Hi Everyone...it's been a while.

It's been a while since I posted anything. I got an email from Elaine the other day, and it made me so happy to hear from her. I decided to come on and say hello to everyone and update you on my situation. I am not getting surgery any time soon. My insurance does not provide for it, it's a written exclusion. I have been actively looking for another job with different benefits, but, I think I am going to stay where I am for now. I took and passed the Social Caseworker II exam for DCYF, so I am on a waiting list for a job with the state. I know that once I can get in with them, I will have the surgery, but after a year, when I am eligible. I joined Weigh****chers on 8/21, and I have lost 20 pounds so far. I am happy about that, I figured I had to do something, the pressure on my knee joints is getting worse and worse. I am really motivated this time, and I hope to lose more weight. Congratulations to everyone who had surgery and are recovering. Hello to everyone on here that I don't know. Check out my profile if you want to know more about me. I think I will come visit more often, as I have missed everyone. Kristen

Kristen..... I have been so worried about you. I'm so glad your outlook is more positive and you're so ready to do what it takes to move things along. CONGRATS on the test and once you have that new job the countdown is on. But who knows...you may have lost the weight you want to lose on Weigh****chers. You're strong...you can do this either way. COME BACK OFTEN. We miss you and you still belong here. Shel

Thanks for the words of encouragement Shel. I will come back often, I love this site. I have a lot of weight to lose...like 150 more pounds. This will jumpstart me, and maybe I will be able to get rid of the pain in my knees and not have to have knee surgery.

Hey Kristen, Great to hear such a positive attitude. Do what you have to do. There is a non-ops board here at OH that you might find helpful. My knees were giving me a heck of a time and I have found with a 60 lb loss so far that the pain is much less. Keep us posted. Betz

Kristen hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooim so glad u respondes . You know I have been doing weigh****chers the points and its been good . We have weigh****chers at work and my company pays for it so I said why not and I dropped 27 pounds and im eating so much every day I dont feel im depriving myself just eating different foods. Well I had my lap banding surgery last Thursday and its great because you only need a few days to recover but I took 2 weeks off just to spoil myself and for me the first week was rough but I feel great today and im happy to say the weight keeps comming offf a pound every two days im averaging . Its much slower than the other gastric options but for me im good . I wasnt a canidate for the other ways because of a future problem Dr. Roye sees comming to my stomach. Wow something to look forward to lol. So please keep in touch and God bless. E mail me any time elaine p.S. When I go back to ww and get weighed they know I took time off for minor surgery only so they will be suprised to se I lost a bunch of weight. I only did this to encourage others to stick to the program . Ya lol lol see ya
