HI HONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been doing great. Then I hit the wall. LITERALLY!!! I've been feeling good since getting home but the protein intake was severely low. I barely drink 20 oz of fluid..even with trying very hard. Well, the day before yesterday I felt weak. Then yesterday I stood up and down I went. I'm OK. But I hit the wall and just sat there for a minute. My mom helped me up and I was basically out of commission all day. I felt fine ( a little tired)....but when I'd try to get up, the legs got wobbly and I just couldn't hold myself up. So we put away all the creamed soups and stuff and concentrated on protein yesterday..... I'm feeling much better today. I can walk around and get from point A to point B, which was impossible yesterday. SO GIRLS..........GET THAT PROTEIN IN!!!!! You gotta do it. I know it's hard, but believe me, it'll kick your rear if you don't. I'm basically living on pureed refried beans with flavorless protein in it and a dollop of sour cream on top. I like it and have had it for each meal since I hit the bottom yesterday. I can feel it definitely helping. SO PLEASE be careful. Get as much as you can. If the shakes are yukky, then try the refried beans...they're creamy and yummy and throw some protein in it. My mom also concocted this mixture that tastes like the inside of a deviled egg (my favorite)...and the egg yolk has plenty of protein in it. I'm glad you're feeling better. Just don't let yourself feel good and think all is well with minimal protein......it'll come back and getcha! Love you girls........... Shel

Hi Shannon: Well according to my nutritionist, full liquids means anything that will pour from the spoon. So whatever is pureed, is then put through the tea strainer and then I eat it. It's soupy. It's not thick like pudding yet, but a little soupier than that. But yes, I am having pureed foods, that are strained down to soupy form. I do not eat more than 3 oz and I have 3 meals a day. My food is about the same consistancy as a protein shake, maybe just a weeeeeee bit thicker but not much. I seem to be doing VERY well today with the increase in protein. Feeling much better. But just because my nutritionist told me to do this, you make sure you follow any rules that you've been given. I see Robin who is associated with Sue (who taught our class that day). They're very good and I'm doing very well. I told them Dr. Roye had me on "full liquids" and this is the plan they came up with for me. It's working. Hope this helps...............HUGS Shannon. Shel

First off, glad to hear that you all are doing well! Shel, What brand of refried beans are you eating? Is it premade or did you make them? What about the sour cream, is that low fat? Again, just preparing myself. Thanks for the ideas. L

i used the old el paso [yellow can] refried beans, and low fat sour cream. i pretty much lived on refried beans and cottage/ricotta cheese w/ spaghetti sauce for that first 6 weeks!
