1 week post op
Good morning all:
Feeling good today, one week post op. It's hard to believe that it was last Tuesday that I had surgery. I waited sooooooooooooo long to have it, but now the time seems to be flying by. FIGURES, right?
Anyway, my highest weight was 339 and Dr. Roye wanted me to lose 10 pounds and on the day of surgery I was 319.....BUT.....when I came home I was back up to 332 from all the IV fluids. However, after getting back on my BP meds and not having much to eat, I'm down to 314 today. I'm really OK with that for only one week.
I'm feeling good, go shopping, do some housework,...I'm just careful about lifting or pulling things. I'm a little slower than before but pretty much am able to do as I did before with some limitations. But I must say that I think I'm gonna have a long winter. I am absolutely FROZEN all the time. I have an electric blanket on my recliner and then wrap up in a fleece blanket. I'm always cold. I'm not complaining, beleive me. I feel fine. But I have noticed that so I think the REAL winter months are gonna be something. It's so funny cause I'm usually the hot one of the group.
So I'm off to go shopping this morning and run some errands. Wanted to drop a line and THANK THANK THANK all of you who wished me well and offered such kind words upon my return home. Thanks you guys. The support here is awesome and I suppose I could have made this journey without the website, but I'm soooooooooo glad I didn't have to. YOU GUYS ROCK. It really takes more than surgery to make this happen.....it takes the people who have already done it, as well as the people who are on their way. The confidence we get is phenomenal and I know that I feel as good as I do because I'm here, so believe me, I do not take any of you for granted.
Thanks guys. Talk to you soon.

P.S. Have you guys tried the AchievOnes yet? I LOVE the cappucino and the Mocha Java is good too. Also, I made my own with some skim milk, a bit of decaf instant coffee, some Davinci carmel (chocolate if you like) flavoring ( you all MUST try these syrups, REALLY!!!) and some ice...oh yea and some flavorless whey protein. YUMMMMYYYYY! It's good for all you that have lost a lot of weight but still need that Starbucks fix (like me). But the AcheivOne's are grab and go and will be great for work and they are fantastic.
Love you all.
hiya!
so glad to hear you're doing so well!!!!
i hear you on the cold thing - that's actually a side effect of surgery, in general. it'll wear off in a few months, but never fully- because you ARE losing some of your lovely fatty insulation. So the winter will be a tad colder- but shouldn't be anything like what you're experiencing now! i remember it was mid-july, 85 degrees, and i'm in my fleece blanket and Uggs and still cold! NOT normal for me, but normal for the surgery, i guess. lol
i never did try the achievone's because Susan Maria's shipping was so ridiculous for them. I don't drnk any protein these days, and haven't for a long while now.. but i've been thinking of keeping some at my desk for the days when making it to the cafe are difficult.
keep up the sipping, walking and slurping your pureed food. 6 weeks will go by so quickly you won't even know it!!
hugs,

You go girl your doing great. Im still very sore and tender from where my port to fill the band is . Its just one of the drawbacks and the weight comming off is much slower. I have dropped about ten pounds in5 days and thats really good but I know it will be slower than the surgery u had. I wasnot a canidate for the ryn. Because of the results of some of the tests he ran but im ok with that. This is like a tool and when I use it properly the rest of my life I will be a thinner person. Hey I watched al roeker this morning and he had a gastric bypass about 2 years ago and he got so thin and he is now visually heavier. How can his body do that after all his progress.Well any way take it slow . Im home on very slow and im cold too! Your not alone I am not moving well and my body is not working back to 100 percent yet. So another day or two and ill be right behind you shopping and running errands. I hope anyway. Lol. Bye 4 now elaine
REMEMBER DRINK DRINK DRINK.
