My six week with Dr. Roye

Well, I had my appointment with Dr. Roye today. I am pretty happy and he says I am doing well. I am down 47 lbs since surgery on August 3. The bummer of this is I wanted to be at an even 50 lbs. When the nurse weighed me she saw my chart saying I weighed 228 last time I was there (it was a mistake, it should have read 328) so she weighed me on a scale that only goes up to 300. I had to go to another scale because I actually weigh 302. Two lousy pounds made me have to be embarassed by having to go to a different scale. Anyway, I'll be happy with the 47lbs since surgery and 55 since getting on this ride. Betz

Wow! 47lbs!!!! I am sooooo jealous! You should be doing the Snoopy Happy Dance! That is awesome! I'm one of the pokey losers and have only lost 43lbs since July 6th. Sorry about you feeling bad you had to switch to another scale (dopey nurse) but just think, you will NEVER have to go through that again!!!!!!!!!!!! Or any of the other myriad of lovely embarrassing/humiliating things we have to endure when we're over a certain weight. Congratulations!! Pam

Thanks so much for the reply Pam. Don't be jeolous of me. I started out real big and we lose faster in the beginning and then slow down. Just remember it all comes off when we follow the rules. Dr. Roye was in a good mood today. Sometimes I feel a bit rushed with him but we had a couple laughs. The new P.A. was with him. He was also on time today. I have talked to a few people who had to wait an hour or more after their appointment time. I bet that is stressfull. Anyway, it's all good Betz

Embarrassed???? Betsy, you lost 47 pounds for heavens sake. 5 gallons of milk!!! Do you realize how much weight that is? Try lifting 5 gallons of milk at once and then say that isn't just a ton of weight off of your body frame. Don't be embarrassed girl...not at all. You should be so proud of yourself, as the rest of us are. But.......I do understand that you're in a certain mindset and you have goals for yourself. And that's good. But you should be rewarding yourself with inner pride and good feelings, not feeling embarrassed. You're doing a great job!!! Challenge yourself but don't be too hard on yourself at the same time.......(which we all do, I know). That is 47 pounds that you will NEVER see again. Shel P.S................could I possibly write the word "yourself" one more time in this post??
