oy vey!
so i've finally started losing weight again. it's been a month since the scale last moved.. BUT, i can all of a sudden fit into my "free pants" [i got these at LB during my first post-op shopping trips. the pants i wanted didn't have a tag, so i brought these other ones with me. unbeknownst to me, the saleswoman threw these size 20 pants in the bag, too - oops!] so woohooo for me!
but not so woohoo is that i got laid off on thursday. ugh. i hate the defense contract industry sometimes!!! the customer ended up pulling funding for my job, since my security clearance was taking so damn long to process. basically i've been doing busy work for him and haven't been able to work on the classified stuff he wanted.. sooooo..
i need a job. LOL anyone know anyone hiring for project analyst/coordination/QA or Process Development?
unemployment, here i come!!
Al and Nadene - congratulations!!!!!! you guys are doing so great!!! See you tomorrow, maybe???

Don't forget about American Power Conversion in West Kingston. That's where I work. I came here right after 9/11 when I was laid off from the RI Health Dept. as a favor to a friend in the temp labor field. I was only coming here til she could find someone else. Well, here we are.....5 years later. I went perm after just a few months when I decided that I LOVED it here. There are openings all over this company, but you MUST have a college degree. Once you get your foot in the door, you can move to just about any opening within the company that sounds appealing. It doesn't really matter what your degree is in, but you have to have that. The pay is good and they just benefit you to death. For example: My insurace pays all of my surgery related expenses and I have no out of pocket costs at all....and have had very minimal expenses with the testing. As far as the $1000 hospital deductible, APC gives us what looks like a credit card and we just give it to the admissions people.......and we're all set. APC takes care of everything, even the deductible. No out of pocket costs!! Can't beat that.
You should check into it and let me know and I will refer you to someone in HR. You can't go wrong here, that's all I can say. It's VERY VERY employee friendly.
Let me know.

Kristen,
Yay! about the pants thing (including getting them free! lol) But, that totally sucks about the job thing. SOOO sorry. Unfortunately, I don't have any job recs but the couple mentioned above sound like good possibilities.
It would just figure you're going to the meeting the night I'm going to skip! lol
