my 3 month wait is almost over..........nerves setting in now
Well, as some of you know, my hopes of getting a surgery date on May 29th went out the window. Dr. Roye found just too many things wrong with me, so I've been undergoing treatment for a multitude of things. I've been on my cpap now for almost a month (we won't talk about the times I just rip it off my face and go back to sleep)....and I'm trying hard to follow all the rules. I've been treated for all of my ulcers and according to the gastro guy, I won't ever get them again after the treatment. That's good.
So Annette called and wanted to move my appt and I got a bit apprehensive....I've already waited 3 long months...but she moved it UP to Monday the 21st. So maybe, (just maybe!!!) I'll walk out of there with a surgery date. Dr. Roye is just trying to make sure I don't have any complications after surgery and that's exactly how I want it,....but boy is the waiting a drag.
I'm going to take a few days off work and just relax and finish up some things around my house and then see him on Monday. Then I may consider taking a leave of absence a couple of weeks prior to surgery, to just get prepared mentally. My house and everything has been ready to go for months, but I'm still anxious....so I want to take a few days to just calm down and breathe. That's if, I even get a date. I don't really hold my breath at this point. But I'm hopeful.
Hope everyone is doing well. I'm in the rear, but catching up slowly but surely.
Hugs to all.
Shel
Hey Shelli,
Just reading about your cpap brings back memories...I was diagnosed a long time ago and I am supposed to be using it too...I had the exact problem. Pulling it off in the middle of the night and going back to sleep. Needless to say I have not been using it which is sooo bad!!
Don't be nervous...you will be absolutely fine. That wait is finally going to pay off and you should be so proud of yourself that you took the time and did what needed to be done before surgery. It will be well worth the wait. I think that taking some time off before may do you good...do things for yourself in the days prior..go get your hair done or a massage to help you relax. Good luck to you and I hope you get your date from Dr. Roye....just think, you will soon be on the way to a happier, healthier you!!!
Best wishes!!

Hi Kristen...........
Thanks for your supportive words. Believe me, it helps.
The cpap is driving me nuts. It's not so much that the thing bothers me on my face, but it wakes me every 15 minutes and I'm such a bad sleeper as it is.........sometimes, I just yank it off and roll over. But most of the time I really try hard to keep it on, even though I know I have NEVER made it to the 4 hour mark (which is what they say is the optimal restorative sleep level). But I'm hoping whatever I am doing is helping.
The nerves are just because I've been down the yellow brick road before.......trying to get a date. Something always seems to get in the way. ARG. But I'm hoping this time is the charm.
Keep me in your thoughts Monday. Thanks again.
Shel
I will definitely keep you in my thoughts...I can't wait to find out if you get your date!! Have faith and think positive...You will be fine and it WILL happen
As far as the CPAP, I am a restless sleeper and a flipper...so I think that is why I take it off in the middle of the night without knowing. From what I hear from a friend that has and actually can use the CPAP...you feel fabulous and have so much more energy. I am hoping the surgery takes care of that instead!!
Good luck on Monday and keep us posted!!!!!

Hay you!!!!!!
How the heck have you been???
So Mondays the big day. I'm so excited for you!!! I go back to work Monday and I'm working 1pm-9pm so I won't know how things went till late but trust me I'll be here to check up on you!!! So if my math is right and with the way Dr. Roye sets up his appointments it looks like you'll be our Mrs. November!!! lol You have waited so long and have done everything you needed to do I can't see how there would be any more delays hun.
I'm gonna cross my fingers and toes for you!!!!!
Big Hugs!!!

Hi Deney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't need to ask how you are..............your picture tells it all..........you're beautiful. You're doing a great job since surgery and looking wonderful. I've missed you and hope all is well with hubby's journey.
Are you ready to go back to work........I know sometimes boredom can set in. I hope to see you at the next meeting.
Hugs
Shel
I have to tell you my friend you sooo make me smile when you call me Deney.
My aunty who passed from Lou Garrets Disease was the only other person who used to call me that. All my other aunts call me either Na or Dene. So when I hear Deney it makes me think of my Aunty Linda and the craziness we used to call Aunty Diddas house..
I want to thank you for that...
Hubbys doing great, had his pshyc eval yesterday and has his last sleep study set up for August 29th. They called and said they was going to use the bypap on him instead of the cpap. I guess it has more pressure or something. I dunno my husbands translations are so bad..lol Once that's done, it will be blood work time and then time to call Dr. Roye. I so hope we can get him set up for late December, as in December 26ish or later but well see... At this point with his weight at 530lbs. his 6'5 frame is about to break so any date will do. It's just after the holidays would alleviate so much stress and he could take the time off from work with out his brain worrying about who's going to do his job.
So well see....
I'm so glad to see you around again and I hope you don't run off on us again little miss!!! lol
Good luck on Monday and please PLEASE let us know how you make out....
We are all pulling for you!!!!!!

See ya soon.
Shelli
Okay Shel, we are all jumping for you!!!!!
Finally, you are almost there.......it is so soothing to know you took the time to make sure all ducks were in a row before you went ahead with your surgery and I know it is hard waiting but at least you can begin your journed knowing your health is where it should be. I hope we see you at the next meeting in September and I will be looking on Tuesday for your post with your DATE!!!!
Hugs,
Elisa
