Tips for new post-ops!
Someone else had asked about the sodium in the soups too at the pre-op teaching class (all of Dr. Roys, Harrington's and Ryder's surgery people go to this class) and what the nutri. said at that class was because we are eating such small amounts of food its really not something we have to worry about. She basically told us to use what we want, of cores with in reason (don't use the whole salt shaker on one thing..lol)
Also don't be afraid if you can eat more of one kind of food and less then another. The weights of the food and texture will play a big part in how much you can eat. Like me, I was only able to eat 1/3 of a cup of cottage cheese and still now can't eat to much more then that but on the other hand I could and still can eat 3/4 of a can of cream of chicken soup! The first time this happened I freaked out cuze I was thinking OMG THIS ISN'T WORKING!!! But really its because its a liquid and less dense so I was able to eat more.
Hope This Helps!!

OMG you have to try pineapples!!!!!! I get the dole in all natural juices. The little snack packs. I'd say stay away from the pineapple it self at first but add some of the juice!!! It's really good. Just pass off the pineapple chunks to someone in the house..lol I eat the pineapple now too... It's one thing I craved like crazy!!!!
try seasoning it with some of your favorite herbs? i love cottage cheese, but unline nadene - can't stand fruit in it. lol. [actually, i hate fruit mixed in with anything that isn't another fruit - or chocolate - but we won't go there]. so i stick to the more savory-type additives, like italian seasoning, chives, and tarragon.
