Few steps closer...
I am almost ready to have surgery. I was looking at my list of things I need to get done. I have one more month to do for my 6 month supervised diet. I have to have to get the gallbladder ultrasound done as well as the psych evaluation then I am done with all my pre-op testing. Then the dredded waiting for approval. But, I am going to be postive that I am going to get approved. But how exciting. Just two more things really that I have to do and then I am so much closer to being on the losing side. The only bummer about the psych evaluation is that I have to come up with $300 to pay for part of it. My insurance doesn't cover everything. Still how exciting is it all to be almost done!
Ciao,
Jamice
OH how exciting. It does seem like forever. I was lucky to get my sleep test done earlier than expected. I was schedule out almost to October. I just need to book the psych and the gallbladder screening and then I am done! YAY!
I can't wait to hear when you date is going to be. How long has it been for you from the beginning?
Jamice
Hi Jamice,
We haven't met yet.
I'm kind of like a lurker, I guess! LOL!
I just started posting on the boards, but have been reading them for awhile.
I know what you mean, about forking out the $300.00. I just did that last week.
I'm still gping to try to submit the bill to my secondary insurance.
Well, I hope to meet all of you at Sept's meeting.
I don't drive at night, vision problem, but I will try to get a ride.
Take care,
Nancy
oh, isn't the sleep test a pain....I was fortunate to have one a while ago so I didn't have to go again. I didn't have to have the gall bladder either because I had mine out last year. I can't remember when I started this whole thing...I want to say maybe May or June....and what was holding me up is the psych screening because it is not covered....ugh..pain. I think the gall bladder thing is just a hyda scan right?? it is not bad at all....I just read your other post about your sleep test...I would have skipped going out for the sleep test too. Have you set up the last of your tests?? when are they??? I tried to get as much done as possible in a day because it is hard for me to take time out of work.
Yes, I am sticking with him for now. If in the after care I am just not clicking with him I can always go with Dr. Ryder. I just have heard so much good stuff from other patients that have had him for the LapBand, and I figure I am already with him. I was comfortable with both surgeons. Just that Dr. Ryder is young and a female and I liked that.
As for the psych, I don't know who the Doc is. It's not on the paper the name. Just to call and tell them that I am having the surgery.
Oh I have another personal question, who old are you? I feel like I am talking to someone that is kind of young. And I am just curious if I am right. LOL
Ciao,
Jamice
Hi Jamice,
Welllll.....it depends on what you call "young"! lol
I will be 38 in October (eeek, that sounds so old!) but I'm around a lot of college students so that probably affects the way I communicate.
I say, if you're already about ready to go with Dr. Pohl then you may as well stick with him. You're right, you can always switch to Dr. Ryder for aftercare if you want.

Yes, 38 is young. You are only 10 yrs older than me. That isn't too much. You do just sounded like you were in your twenties like me. I was thinking the same thing about Pohl too. I am almost done and I don't want to have to go take something over or what not for a different doctor now. I hope stay in touch with you the whole way. You are the only other person that frequents the RI board that is persuing the LapBand.
