weird problem

okay so this question is probably for those of you who are 3+ months out of surgery.. Over the last few weeks I've noticed that I have become the biggest clutz. I nearly tip over when I get up out of my chair at work. I drop things ALL the time. I miss when I throw things away. I know this doesn't seem like much to you - but it's really odd behavior for me. I've always been really coordinated and very rarely get off balance. It's not that I'm dizzy or lightheaded - that's never happened - it just seems like my center of gravity has changed? I'm thinking that this is happening because I've lost so much weight that my center of gravity HAS changed and so has the shape of my body. For the last X years I've been used to needing to use Y amount of energy to get up - but maybe now that I only need Z amount of energy, but I'm using Y amount - that it's throwing me all off balance? I don't know. maybe I'm talking out my butt - but I'm curious has anyone else experienced this? I've lost a lot of weight previously, and never experienced this - but it also took me a lot longer to lose the amount of weight i've lost in the last 3 months. please.. just tell me i'm not totally crazy? lol. you should have seen me the other day - I was getting out of my car at the bank, nearly fell on my face while chucking my car keys half way into the next parking spot? I dropped a package of straws - twice - while trying to place it in my buggy at the store. it's ridiculous! cheers, kristen

hahah Kristen, Sorry, but I have to laugh at this...I don't know if I am doing it either but I am going to watch and see if I am doing the same thing. Maybe you're right, it's the weight loss. It does seem logical. By the way, I read your post on the main boards re: jerky....I have really never tried it, but people tell me its very salty. I know you love the stuff, but does it make you thirsty or hold water in your body? I want to buy some but I am afraid that I will drink and hold a lot of water. Let me know please....... thanks...carol b

Okay, well I am what, 20 months post op and this still happens to me sometimes. And yes it happened more often in the first year. I think you will need to re-evaluate your perception depth and projection as you lose a lot of weight. Hope this helps, Elisa
