Hi everyone, sorry for the late post but my PC was broken, as of last Fri I had my staples removed and also got on the scale. In 10 days I managed to loose 21 lbs, I feel great and motivated to walk, the dr said I could move to puree foods also, so I started adding some chicken to my purees and put it the blender but it made my stomach upset. My grandmother made a beef stew yesterday and I felt like puting 4oz in the blender cause it looked so good but I was afraid of having it so I passed. Any tips of what tasty food I could have at this point??? I'm sorry I missed the meeting last night but I will make sure that I make it to the one next month. Any suggestions and recepies are greatly appreciated.

HI Al, I had my surgery on May 17th. Doc said I can try everything, so I do and I found that I cannot eat chicken. Beef, if its steak I can tolerate a little and a very small piece of hamberger. Pork and lamb are the easiest to digest. I tried some pork and I could eat more of that then beef and tolerate it much better. The best thing that I can eat protein wise are the south beach protein bars which have 19 grms of protein and are delicous. But who wants to live on them for the rest of their life? I can eat just about everything in the veggies except salad.....still have some problems with that. Soups are great. I do notice that each week, it gets better and better. My pouch loves carbs, I guess because they are easy to digest. Yougert is great too. Hope this helps. Carol B

since you are on pureed foods and will be for awhile - don't worry about solid meats right now. that'll come in a few weeks. what i ate for the first 6 weeks: ricotta and cottage cheeses [about 1/8 c each] mixed with a handful of mozzarella, a spoonful of spaghetti sauce and some italian seasonings. nuke it for about 30 seconds and you've got the inside of a manicotti or stuffed shell. refried beans, pureed [if not already] mixed with some picante sauce, cheese and/or sour cream. *the more cheese you put on something - the more protein you can get! tuna/chicken salad - pureed. *be careful with chicken - it's riduculously difficult to digest. i'm 4 months out and still have issues with chicken, but it's getting easier! do a search on this board and you might find some other things that have posted. definitely look on the recipe board for pureed recipes and you'll find TONS. oh - there are a lot of "dips" that you can make, and eat without the dipping part. i made a crab dip that was super high in protein, and i put some unflavored protein in it. get creative! so long as it's the consistancy of mush, you can eat it. good luck, kristen
