Snap! I'm approved!

Hi all, Just called BCBS to make sure there no problems and the woman told me I am approved! It's only been a week since my first appt with Dr. Ryder. I then called Dr. Ryder's office and they said I'd be getting my packet next week. Yay! So what all is in this packet again?... Trace

Hey Trace, Congrats...what a great feeling when you get the initial approval...it puts you on a natural high!! your packet will include a list of all the testing you will need done, how to go about getting your testing done and with whom. it will have your slips (scripts) to get the tests done...once all of your testing is complete you then make an appt to meet with Dr Ryder to go over the results and schedule your surgery date. I have one more testing phase to be done. I can't wait to get it all done. They had scheduled my upper GI at RI hospital for me so I took the entire day off and got a lot done....that, my EKG and my chest x-ray....the EKG and chest x-ray I didn't need an appt for so it worked out perfect/// 3 down in one day.... Hey Trace- Congratulations!! thats is so awesome that u got approved. Now u can start on all the preop stuff!!! I have my appt with DR.Ryder o Aug 3rd to get my surgery date. So I am so excited with u, its like being on a big high of emotion right now! Shannon

Hey Trace, Congratulations!!! That is awesome news!! The packet will contain the info about tests you need to have done and the orders for those tests. There are some where the appointmants are made for you and a few others that you have to go to with no appointment needed. Whatever is in there, it means you are well on your way and that is wonderful !! Betz

Thanks you guys!!! Today I got my packet in the mail and called to schedule appts. Like everyone said, the one that's going to take the longest to get in to is the sleep study. They can't even get me in for the 1st consult until Set. 5. I asked to be put on the cancelation list as I have a VERY flexible schedule for the summer, but I don't really know how much that will help. Oh well, at least it's started! Trace
