Hi Al!!! I have been checking up on your profile to how ya doing... Nerves are a doozie to deal with but try and think of the good things that are to come... At 27 you have so much freedom coming your way!! Keep your eye on that Prize, the prize of a new life! Your almost there!! Close your eyes and see yourself being able to go the mall and by anything you want, flying on a plane and not having to ask for an extender, buying a car cuze you love it not cuze you fit in it, going out to eat (which you will be able to do) and not having to worry if you fit in the chairs, not being winded after walking up a few stairs, no aching feet and back, being able to ride a bike, riding a roller coaster! These will be things you WILL be able to do not wish you could do!!! All your limitations will be gone!!! Hun my hubbys 6'5 and 510lbs so I know where you are coming from, I know your pains inside and out... My hubby's 3 tests away from getting his date, myself, I'm 19 days post-op.... Myself, I didn't allow myself to be afraid, I've had two other abdominal surgeries before, one open and one scope so I knew what to expect no matter what I woke up to. But I knew I was waking up. Keep positive!!! I always had this dream that I had a zipper under my chin. I would imagine myself unzipping it and stepping out of this body and being free... This surgery for me was my zipper........ Close your eyes and see you're self on the other side. Your almost there... Come on over to the losing side... I'll hold a seat for you!!!! Always remember we're here for you... If you need us, we are only a click away!! Hugs ~NaDene~

Hi, I am new here but and I didn't have the surgery yet but am in the process of getting tested and must say that I think everyone is nervous but from what I read....it is SO worth it! My prayers are with you as well and you will be soon on the loosing side. Na, I have to say that what you wrote nearly made me cry it was so true and on the money...best of luck to your Hubby and WTG on doing so well.
