Since then Pain in the esophagus area. can't lay down because it hurts. even a sip of water just hurts so much. I am scared. Dr is not on call this weekendanyone have any ideas?

Doesn't matter to me how I ate chicken...the first 3 months, it just killed my gut. ***OUCH*** I did much better with a tender cut of steak cooked medium-rare than I ever did (or have) on chicken. Anyway, for best results with chicken, eat dark meat (white is dryer), use a sauce or something wet like gravy to help moisten it, steam it or slow cook it so its ultra moist, or eat the canned (not all white). (((HUGS))) If you don't feel better soon, do call your docs 24/7 emergency number for advise.

i am now eating new foods and i have the same problem...but when that happens i have to bring it up because it hurts so much that I cant stand it..so i vomit it up ...wait awhile maybe hour of so to let stomch rest then i try something that i know i can digest. I think 3 weeks is way to early for chicken or anything like that. I didnt try that until 5 o 6 weeks out. Even salad now is hard because i get the burps..and very gassy. If you do decide to keep trying you have to take tiny bites and chew until there is nothing left... Carol b

Sheila, Don't know what the advice of your doctor is, but at 3 weeks, the chicken is probably supposed to be pureed. If you dont have one, get a little "Silver Bullet" to chop it. It works well. Also, take your sweet time eating. When they say it should take 20 to 30 minutes to eat, use all of the time. It seems almost impossible to look at 2-3 ounces of food and think it will take you that long, but if you slow down, the food should go down easier. Hope this helps. Bob H.
