Hi NaDene, Thanks for letting me know--I'll have to see how long Dr. Pohl is booking first surgeries. Also, you cleared up for me about Dr. Roye having others in his office. I didn't know if Dr. Ryder was a separate practice or not even though they're both at the same surgical center, which now I do! Also, I didn't know there was a 3rd doctor there--even better! I submitted my big online profile questoinnaire thing to them this morning and the office woman said she'd review it and call me back. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR SURGERY TOMORROW!!! You must be so excited. I'm sure it will go great and I can't wait to hear how it goes once you're home and up to posting! take care, Trace

Yep Yep, there is Dr. Harrington, Dr. Ryder, and Dr. Roye all at the same location... There are people here on this site who got in even quicker then me with Dr. Ryder... They now do lap bands there too. I'm having the bybass myself, I'm just not for having something forigen in my body, but thats just my own "weardo" thing..lol Hugs! NaDene

Hi Trace, I believe that Dr. Pohl is the only one in RI who does LapBand. Although there are a couple in MA. Dr. Pohl is GREAT! With him, you must start by going to his seminar which is held once a month on a Thursday at Roger Williams Hopsital. I don't recall which week he normally has them. But if you go, be prepared to sit for like 3 hours!!! He will recommend all the "specialist" you need to see for evaluation. Good luck! Danielle

Well clearly I am mistaken. I checked with Dr. Roye last year and he wasn't doing LapBand then. I have heard great things about Dr. Roye - honestly you can't go wrong with either Roye or Pohl. IMO

Danielle- Dr.Roye is just starting to do lapband surgery over the course of the last couple of months. He has a doctor from california precepting him how to do the surgery. Just a little info I thought ladies might want to know. Shannon

Hi Danielle, I will be going to the seminar next month. Thanks for the heads up and being there all evening! The more info the better though! Did you have your surgery with Dr. Pohl? How long ago? How has your experience been? Sorry for so many questions! Thanks again, Trace

Hi Trace, This is what the board is for. Ask as many questions as you like. Yes, I had my lapband surgery with Dr.Pohl at the end of November 2005. I have lost 25lbs since the surgery. My loss was slowed by 3 months of eating out every day while my kitchen was out of commision. I am back on track now, and doing fine. Losing at least 1lb per week. I took 3 weeks off of work - but my job requires that I climb ladders and crawl under desks - so I thought better to take more then less. Read through my profile, and feel free to e-mail me. Good luck! Danielle
