I wonder how long this process has been for everyone else. I had my initial consult with Helen on August 3, 2005 and my surgery is scheduled for August 3, 2006. Helen told me at the first consult that it usually takes about 6 months. I had a delay due to a knee injury and I had a delay because I was first denied by my insurance and had to appeal. How long did all of you wait between initial consult and surgery date? Betz

My insurance accepted me right away in September 2005 before I had my appointment with Helen. I answered the questioniere that Dr. Harrington's office sent me, that was submitted to my health insurance and it was accepted right away. The entire time from my appointment with Helen and all my of my testing was 8 months. (September to May 17th, my surgery date). I didnt work from January 1st to the present so I was able to schedule the testing anytime they could fit me in and it still took all of that time. Glad to hear that you have a date. Are you having your gall bladder out too and who is your doctor? Carol b

well.. technically speaking, my first consultation was in November of 2001. First surgery scheduled for April 12, 2004. However, for Dr. Roye's office .. my first consult with Helen was May 11, 2005. My surgery date was just about a year later on April 20, 2006. I had insurance battles to contend with.. that delayed me. kristen

Hi Betz, Mine only took 8 weeks and 2 days to surgery at the New England Medical Center program, but then I got lucky and got in the required behavior classes the day after my first consult because of a cancelation. I did have to wait 4 months for my 1st consult though. Trish

I went for my surgeons first inital meeting in October 2003, I didn't get my first consult with him until June cause his office screwed up 2 of my appointments and they kept getting pushed. I saw him in June, got my date for surgey in Aug. and had my surgery Sept. 2004. Shannon

My first meeting with Dr. Roye was July 19, 2004 and my surgery was Sept 23, 2004 so it took about 2 months for me. I know this is definatly not the norm for one of Dr. Royes patients. With love, Em
