I am home!!!
I got home on Sat. the 10th at about 2pm (with a little pushing on my part because I could not get any rest there!!!) Thank you all for you thoughts and prayers, you are to sweet. The only thing that really bothers me and that was a little unexpected was the amount of pain. I know this is to be expected with surgery, but I have never had surgery, so I guess I was not fully prepared for that part of it! It is getting better now, it is just hard to find a good sleeping postion! The gas is a whole 'nother story! OMG that hurts! Thank god I have started to relaease some of that! So I am having my first protein concoction this morning consisting of vanilla SF pudding and un-flavored protein powder. It is kind of tricky because I can't be sure how much I can tolerate, still learning! I will talk to you all soon, oh and it was so nice to come on this board and see that you peeps were thinking of me!
Shannon: Yes they gave me the IV push button thing for pain, but I was not pushing it as much as I should when I was in 5 Step down in RIH. That place was making me so anxious that everytime I would take some pain medication my heart rate would go up, so that is why I mostly dealt with the pain, however I went home on liquid lortab(vicodin) and that works excellent!!!

Hi Kristen
Glad you are home, and doing well. How long were you in the hospital? Like everyone says, do what your doctor says and you will be fine. The first couple of weeks are tricky with the foods and shakes,. it's a learning experience for sure. I am going on my 4th week now, and still having trouble with different things i am trying. You will have to tell us about your experience at the hospital. The more you walk, the more gas you will expel even if its in your house.
Keep us posted on your recovery....
