hi everyone
this is kind of an all around response to a lot of posts!
to Kristen L: I've been there and it sucks soooo bad. UHC was my worst enemy for a very long time. I'm curious what grounds they denied you under? They have to give a reason. If it's a "written exclusion" - then your fight is going to be very, very tough. If it's anything other than that,it's just going to take some persistance and jumping thruogh hoops - and you'll win. Feel free to read my profile - i go into my battles against UHC, but to warn you - i didn't win because i had an exclusion policy. It seems as though your HR department was willing to work with you - so maybe if there's an exclusion, the next time benefits renewals come up - then they can rewrite their policies to include WLS.
to Shelli: Honey, I am so sorry that you didn't walk out with a date - but Dr. roye knows what he's doing.. and deep down you know he's right in waiting, too. But that doesn't make it suck any less! I wish I could give you a big hug!! I hope you and your girls have tons of fun at Foxwoods!
to everyone else who got a date: congrats!!!! it's the most exciting day ever!
to tina: stick to cream soups [cambell's 98% fat free] for quite a while. then gradually move on to very soft foods, like tuna fish. stick to high protein. you'll see other people talk about living on mashed potatoes, but that's not very helpful to your system. remember to treat it like a newborn baby's stomach! it's new and needs to have delicate things inside!
i'm sorry i've been kind of vacant this past week. i've been crazy busy - interviewing for jobs, looking for a new car, my brother and his fiancee came in from atlanta because we have a wedding to go to today.. it's just been crazy! So I hope everyone is out enjoying this beauitful weather.. i know i have!
Oh - and I had a WOW moment last night. My parents have this thing called a "Craig Cat" - it's for the lake, and it's like a jetski, but you don't stradle it, you just sit with your legs flat out in front of you. I've always been afraid of it, because of how big I was - but I got on it yesterday with NO problems!!! didn't fall in or tip it over or anything. i was so happy.
i think i'm down about 50 pounds now, just 5 weeks out. woohoo. can't wait to get to Dr. Roye's so I can weigh myself. LOL
happy memorial day everyone!!!
much love,
kristen
