Help!! The worst day of my life - kinda long

Thank you all for the words of encouragement. I do have sleep apnea, I have already completed a sleep study, and I am using my CPAP machine AND I am on an oxygen machine that hooks up to my CPAP because my oxygen level goes down so low at night when I am sleeping. I have an appoinment to see my PCP in a couple of weeks for the tingling and numbness I am having in my legs due to weight. I am going to call him today and see if he can write a letter or something for the insurance company because I have been seeing him for about 15 years now, and he is well aware of my problems with my weight, and all the struggles I have had since my teens. I don't plan on giving up without a fight. I really do have so many medical problems assiciated with my weight. This is not for cosmetic reasons. The ins. co. will end up paying more for me in the long run.

United Health must be on a roll because I was also denied on that very same day!!! I too, called before hand to see if I was covered. They said not only would I be covered but covered 100%. Then when I recieved the letter it said based on my company's policy it is not covered. I was so confused!!!However when I talked to HR they said they had NO exclusions in there policy, and that it should be covered!!!! UHC is just playing a not so fun game with us. I also cried my eyes out after recieving the letter, I felt as though my last chance for my life had been taken away from me!! I have a BMI of about 50 and a comobidity, and I just turned 25!! Then I got mad and started to down load the info I needed to appeal. And now after reading your post ~ I'm livid!!! I can not believe this company. We are real people, with real problems, who pay an insurance company ALOT of money in healthy times and in not so healthy times to make sure we can recieve the care we need, when we need it, not if they feel like or in our case don;t feel like it. Thats what it really breaks down to. Stay strong hun!!! I am appealling and will keep on appealing until they decide to approve me, if for no other reason than to shut me up! ~Erin
