Biting nails!

I have a date! Yippeeee its May 31st. But Yikes! I still have not received my approval letter from the insurance, BCBSMA, It's just a bit over 2 weeks away. Is it normal to have it cut this close? I just know I will feel better once I have the letter in hand (o: Ya all cross your fingers for me please (o: I also wanted to ask about the support groups for RI area. I live in Warwick, but because of my insurance I am having the surgery at NEMC in Boston. It is just too far for me to get motivated enough to go to post op groups. Are their any in RI that are open to the public? I would love to meet my neighbors going though this. Thanks in advance for any info. (o: Trish yeahhh the sun may come out tomorrow!

hey there congrats on your date!! that's right around the corner! you should probably put a call into BCBS. I never officially received a letter stating I was approved for this surgery.. they sent it to my surgeon -so you could be approved already! Many of us attend the support group at RIH. It is the 1st wednesday of the month, in the Gerry House (www.lifespan.com/rih you can find a 3-D map on this site that will help you locate the building). The next meeting will be June 7th! GM Trish, I also have BCBSMA and I am leaving in a few minutes to have my surgery. I received an approval letter from bc. This was before I even had an appointment with the gastric bypass surgeron. I didnt want to go and end up paying unless i had a letter. Although I did speak to the doctor's secretary while i was waiting for my approval letter. Once i received it, she also received it and i went from there. Like Kristen says there is a meeting once a month on the first wednesday at the Gerry House near RI Hospital. OK guyssssssss I am off.....i just had a few minutes here before I leave, and I am so ready, but I found out my kids are really worried about this. My daughter is taking time off work to be with me in the morning at the hospital. I hate to see my family worried about me.....I know I will be just fine. Gassy but fine...hahaha ok enough said.........see you all in a few days carol
