I saw dr ryder today, she said I looked great, and i'm right on track with my weightloss...I've lost 28 lbs. in 3 weeks. She doesn't want me to continue tanning though...she said it's really not good...so I guess I'll stop...for now..lol I'm on soft foods now..and well I just hope I can do it...I haven't been keeping anything down lately....it seems anything I still eat comes back up...I have to learn to eat slower and chew chew chew... I see her again in one month, and hopefully i'll be ok enough to wait the month... I'm just getting really concerned about not being able to keep the foods down. Well that's my day....How bout yours? Love ya's Teri

Teri, Thanks for the info on meds, but then Claudia said that she can take them...maybe I had better call and find out because I believe I am going in later in the day. I need to take my blood pressure med. Also, what excatly is soft food? Were you doing pureed foods before, orjust liquids? I was drinking the protein drink that is in a can. I think I had an Advantage protein drink. Today I went to the grocery store and saw some baby food on sale...I can't believe I am typing baby food... It was fruit and veggies that were strained...I never thought this type of food would be in my house again until I had some grand kids!! I got me some peaches, bananas, sweet potatoes, and carrots. I guess you would called this pureed foods right??? I was shocked to see how tiny the jars are now. carol

Carol, Yes I was on pureed foods for 3 weeks. Now I can try like a poached egg....really tender beef, anything really that is cooked right. As long as I can keep it down. About the meds, I was told no water, no meds...(you can take them the night before surgery)...but I would call and find out...maybe your doc is differnt then mine. I know I did by some baby food, I just couldn't eat it....I had to make all my own pureed... Good Luck, Teri

Kristin, I feel wonderful...I just wish the food would stay down. I just have to learn to eat slower and chew chew chew....its hard because I don't get the feeling in my pouch that tells me enough yet. so I wing it..and I'm not very good at that..1/4 cup is too much for me right now... Yes I'm very glad that I had the surgery...I would do it again in a heartbeat. Teri

Shannon, Thanks...I asked dr ryder about everyone having to wait for the sleep study, and she told my friend Rose that she can go to Newport Hospital to have it done, they could have done it this friday...they are not backed up at all. So if you are not using Dr Roye, and you decide to use Dr Ryder, call her office and ask if you can have it done somewhere else. Teri

Congrats on the weight loss and thanks for the info!!!! :) I have an appointment with Dr. Ryder on Thurs. I wonder if she'll let me do my sleep study with my neurologist here in Westerly. I'm soooo hoping that she'll say I qualify. My BMI is between 47-49 (depending on which one I use). If I use the one on webmd its 48.? If I use the one on this website its 47.? Webmd takes into other comorbidities when it figures it out..like family history. My dad just had a heart attack and quad bypass surgery last August. We thought we were gonna lose him. I sooo don't want to do that to my family. :( And with my weight just going up and up and up since I had my last kid (4 all together) I think I've lost control. I won't be able to have the surgery until August anyway-because of work - I do medical transcription - so I have plenty of time to do the preop testing, etc. if I do qualify. Well happy saturday to ya! :D
