Approved...what's next?

Hi, new here to the board. I am a patient of Dr. Roye. I finally got my approval from Aetna. After dealing with Annette and Aetnea since Jan I am just glad it is over. Annette is suppose to send out the packet now. I just had an ultrasound of my gallbladder a month ago so I don't have to do that, but what other tests can I expect? About how long will it be before I get a date? Just curious to see what happens next. Annette was not that friendly about explaining things. What is it with her? Maybe now that I have been approved I will be treated different. Since I am going with Dr. Roye I am guessing I will get a date for sometime in August at the earliest. Does the packet come with tests already scheduled...or do you have to do that yourself? Thanks for any info you can give! I hope to make it to the next meeting in June.

Hi Kenny, Congrats to u Kenny!!! I was approved last week also and I do have Dr.Roye also. I just got my packet in the mail 2 days ago. A couple of test are scheduled for u but the rest u do on ur own convenience. The sleep study is what is going to hold me up because it will be a month and a half away. Everything else is scheduled for the next couple of weeks. Shannon

hi kenny congrats on getting approved - that's the biggest hurdle!! the next tests you'll face are: pulmonary function chest x-ray a stress test, of some form sleep study - this one will be the test that holds up the process, unfortunately bloodwork - this is the very last test that you do after that, things can move pretty quickly! Kenny: Congrats!! I waited I think like two weeks for my packet in the mail. I have heard alot of people complain about Annette, however I switched to Dr. Ryder (Who is in Dr. Royes office) so that I could get the surgery done quicker because of insurance problems. Anyway, I started the tests on the package in the beginning of march and finished in april. I am having surgery with Dr. Ryder June 7th, 06 (which happens to fall on the same day as the next meeting at Gerry House!) Talk to you soon! Kristin

thanks everyone, that doesn't sound too bad...i am just relieved the whole insurance thing is over. I have worked on this for a number of years and now it just seems to be falling into place...finally.
