here's where I'm at
Yesterday when I went to Curves, they measure you and weigh you and then they put all your stats into this handheld bmi machine...you have to hold it and then it tells you how much weight you should lose.. Well I started out at 247...(I'm 5'4 tall) now today I weigh myself and I'm 220. The body mass index machine told me I should lose another 102 lbs...which would make me 122..I don't think I would look good at 122...I'm big boned and I thought 140 would be good for me....so now if I go by that machine I have 98 lbs to go to reach 122...
The doc never gave me a goal to reach for...I don't know which should be the goal 140 or 122...do you think the machine knows best?
Curious as to what everyone has to say...

Hi Teri, I am 5 feet 6 inches. One year ago i weighed 268. I am now down to 158 and everyone tells me i have lost enough. Helen told me i can go down to 135 just in case i gain some back. I am ok with this but my friends tell me ENOUGH. I was wearing a size 22&24 and now i am a size 8. Havent seen that since grade 5.LOL. I feel so good and have a ton (no 2 tons) of energy. I got a question for u, Out of all the tests I scheduled only one was not out of RI hospital doctors, which is the psych eval. Do u think DR Royes office will take the eval if it is faxed to them and the paper work is all done by me? My pcp told me who to go to but did not make the appt for me I did it myself. thank u for ur hlp!

Wow that is 27 Lbs already? That is wonderful!!!! I am 5'8 and the nutritionist Lindsay Baker said that her goal for me is 170! When I heard that I laughed!! I was 148 Lbs and I was a size 6 and I want to be at least 140! At 172 Lbs I was a size 12 and I am not happy with that!!

Thank you. I was surprised that I lost another 2 lbs today...I started working out yesterday and it really does something to your body...everyday I come home and I get right back on my treadmill cuz I don't want to stop excersizing...I'm hoping that I don't go into a plateau yet...I want to lose at least 40 lbs before that happens.
So your nutritionist is the one that tells you how much you should weigh? I see Dr Ryder on friday so I'll ask her. I don't know how I would look at 122 lbs lol...I can't even imagine it.

i'm having a bit of a problem. i need to find a new scale.
i just weighed myself on my parents scale. it's a japanese Tanita, so it tells you your weight in kilograms. i stepped on today, the first time - ever. and it told me i weighed 127kg.
127kg = 279 pounds.
what this means, is that i've lost 20 pounds since Friday.
This cannot, simply cannot be true. so - i need a new scale, cuz this is totally freaking me out. LOL
Ok, send that scale right to me...here's my address LOL...
I bought one of the digital scales at walmart, and it gives me the exact weight I get at my doctors office...so I guess that's what i'm going with...
Hey I thought that we were suppose to lose 20 lbs a week lol...wouldn't that be terrific?....but we would have tons of hanging skin..lol..not good...
