Thank you Barbra! ... I just need to get to day 3, that will be my short term goal! Oh called the dietitian to, she said carrots are fine. And were allowed fat free/Low fat broth... VERY happy to hear that!!
Hate to break it to you... but you are NOT aloud baby carrots, too many carbs! The pre-opt diet is only low carb veggies!! :(
I did just low carb veggies, lettuce, peppers, cucumbers, asparagus... I know some people do sugar free jello... I did not.
Good luck, I promise after day 3 it gets wayyyyy easier!!
Day 1- OMG I am starving.Carb withdrawal. The shakes after taste make me gag so I block my nose and chug. To top it off I have to cook and watch my family eat. lol.. I swear I was looking at my husband eating and I just wanted to grab his plate.lol... I am motivated because I want this surgery at any cost, even if I have to starve.
Does anyone have any suggestions of things were allowed eating that would satisfy my hunger pains and make this 2 weeks a little more bearable?
9am, 12pm, 3pm, and 7pm I drank shakes... I also had a bunch of baby carrots and a fruit tea.

that does seem strange as i understood that it was covered with the surgery cost since it's so helpful as a preparation for surgery and makes it easier. surgery is covered by medicare, so shoudl be same no? I'm glad i'm at RVH also, this month in particular I could not afford it if i had to pay!
on a side note, what do you mix the optifast with? water, skim milk, 1%, SF almond milk? I'm picking mine up this week but was hoping to go shopping before then.
Thats not fair.. Im happy I am with the RVH and got 4 boxes free But thats not fair for others
Yes, Sacre Coeur you pay per box, which I believe if memory serves me is 52 or 54$ a box... generally 2 weeks is 4 boxes...
I was told that Scare Coeur hospital you have to pay 200$ for it... Is that true?? Royal Vic doesn't charge anything!
Thanks. I've heard that the protein level is not very high.
Do you have nay other recommendations?
