I sent in my referral last August. Got called for info sessions and interview in April and May. I wanted the gastric bypass but they recommended the sleeve due to my age.
Congrats, Haggisboy!
Do you mind me asking what your timeline has been? Which surgery are you having?
Good luck and best wishes!
July 15. Timing couldn't have worked out better. On vacation next week and as it turns out, that's when I have to pick up the Optifast and likely undergo pre-op tests.

if you did your pre-op testing a month ago .. you should mention that to them. It's only valid for a certain time before surgery date. i'm talking about the blood tests, meeting with anesthesiologist, ECG, xray, etc.
Hi!
I'm just kind of feeling frustrated as the 1 year mark has just passed from sending my initial consult, and no surgery date. I was called in for my pre-op last month but no news since. Everyone i know who went through RVH had their surgery done by the one year mark. I called the secretary and was told the doc chooses who goes when. i totally understand that there may be more urgent cases than mine, but.... I guess i'm just feeling sorry for myself! LOL!
Any insight as to what's going on at the Vic? Anyone else going through this?
Thanks for listening to my whine!
Hi, is there any reason you chose Dr. Christou? I have been looking at the web sites for him and Dr. Gagner.
I am not sure if there is any difference. Maybe only in the shortness of either wait list.
Anyone have any recommendations?

dijon mustard, balsamic vinegar, sweetener packet. no oil. I really enjoyed steamed broccoli during my pre-op phase. Also cucumbers and radish in vinegar with some pepper. stuff like tomato slices, baby carrots, snap peas are ok without dressing ... but in moderation because they have a fair amount of carb.
walden farms makes some zero everythign dressings ... some of those are ok. I like the chipolte or bacon ranch ones ... not sure if the ingredients are pre-op diet freindly, but they have no oil or sugar ... jsut whatever chemicals that make them seem like they do. lol
I was speaking with the nutritionist about the optifast diet and the need to eat veggies. I was told I could have salads but with no fat. That means conventional dressings are out. Can anyone recommend either commercial or homemade dressings that can be used?
You are definitely not "locked in" with the dr who did the request... basically the gov't will send YOU and the DR a letter stating if you were approved or not approved and that is your "golden ticket". You can then go to any surgeon who does plastic's under RAMQ. I think it is ridiculous that the top of the tummy tuck is not covered if required and I agree that you should really have a connection with your surgeon, you want them to want to help you and also you want them to be proud of the work that you will be showcasing for the rest of your life!! I also 100% recommend Dr Sinno, he is AMAZING! I am having my fleur de lys tummy tuck in August with another P/S and I have a reason as to why, however, I applied for my arms, thighs and a breast lift with Dr Sinno! I'm crossing my fingers!!!
I think you should follow your gut!
Best of luck...
