So, I will be starting my 2 week liquid diet next Tues. My Dr is recommending Ideal fast shakes..they come in chocolate, vanilla and strawberry flavors. Since the shakes and veggies are the only things I can eat for 2 weeks, I would like to choose the most preferable flavors.
I am wondering if anyone has used the Ideal fast shakes before surgery, and which flavors they liked the best or recommend. I know everybody's tastes are different but any feedback and opinions may be helpful.
Thanks so much :-)

thank you so much for your fast response :) , I guess I was one of the unlucky ones too, I had my info session in may and the 1 on july 19th so I guess a couple more months ... oh well ...
I m not with dr court, my Dr is D his name is kind of hard I had my info session sometime in March the 1on1 I think on May but I was one of the unlucky ones because of summer, that s why I had to wait longer.
I finally got the call will have my RNY on September 30th at lachine hospital. Can you please tell me how was the stay at this hospital also what would you advise me to take with me?
Thanks in advance for your help
Hi Fabaraw, congrats and good luck in your surgery, I'm waiting for the call also! May I ask when was your information session with Dr Court? or the 1 on 1 meeting with him, I'm just trying to see the light at the end of the long tunnel! thanks!
First of all - Congrats!
I had a very positive experience at Lachine. I found the doctors and nurses to be very polite and courteous - and while most were bilingual, even those who stuggled with english, made efforts. The bed was comfy. The care was good, although you do have to be mindful that you shouldn't eat or drink anything more than ice chips for the first 12-24 hours and then only clear liquids and really slowly (i brought a 1 oz. shot glass so I wouldn't over drink). All in all, I was very pleased with my experience there.
Best of luck!
Rachel

I'm happy for you!
Enjoy this wonderful journey!!!!
Once I received the call in July..things moved very fast. I attended the course at the beginning of August, by mid August was having my pre-op tests..blood work and EKG and Gastroscopy due to experiencing acid reflux.
I don't know if everyone's experience was like mine. I hope for you it is :-)
