You are doing great Derek. Your weight loss is really showing. You must be happy to be back to doing regular sports with your guys.

Just a precision, for the companion you need a statement from your medical doctor that you indeed need a companion. If you don't have this, you cannot claim for an additional person. Keep every detail of your trips as the tax man will most likely audit you. It happened to me anyway.

Omat a fight you must never ever give up. I am so sorry I didn't or wasn't able to do this years ago. I spent my whole life fighting myself about my weight. Oh how I wish I would of had this opportunity many many years ago. I am now 73 and I am so grateful to have finally found the solution. I am winning this one. Omar keep after them. Doris QC.

Thanks Doris!! It really is frustrating and I'm becoming worn down. I'll stay vigilant and on my toes though.

I don't think I really think about it too much during my day, its always on the metro, or on the bus ride home, or in bed at night that I really start to dream and let my imagination run a little as to when I will finally get the surgery.
I think your point is super valid though, we are frustrated, but we don't know how the system works, we aren't sure. What the exact criteria are for someone going first, or having their surgery at a certain hospital? Its all stuff you really only hear from other patients, usually on this board. I stumbled upon Dr. Atlas and the Rockland clinic completely randomly and I really knew so little till i joined OH and and really had the opportunity like now to sort of scope it out and find out from people who have been there and are going through it.
I have an enormous year ahead of me university and work wise so I'll definitely be completely absorbed in my life, but i will for sure keep at it just to keep my name fresh in their heads and to see where things go. If it gets to be too much i'll probably pursue the self pay method. Its beyond expensive but this is definitely an investment in myself and my future.

Thanks Ada, I think its really smart of you to kindly insist on an answer. I definitely understand more what you mean with them being super busy, however I still feel there is more harm in giving a wrong answer than in them saying "Call back later, and i'll check your file." Its much less discouraging. I'll try to keep my cool though, its just a bad situation with no one you can really blame. Good luck and I hope you're in and out of that OR as soon as possible :)

thanks so much :)
That information really helps especially because I am, in fact, scheduled to have it at the rockland clinic, so i'll look in to that. I appreciate your help!

Wow Derek that is amazing. You are doing great. Keep up the good work. I told the Dr. I thought I was losing too slow and he replied but you don't have 500 lbs to lose. He shocked me back to reality. I am right on course and my lose is good. So now I am content. I am feeling great. I can eat anything but only 1/2 cup. I eat 3 meals and 2 snacks and make sure to track it and get my protein in. I am tracking on www. sparkpeople.com They break everything down then at the end of the day I print the sheet for my NUT. Will see her on Monday in Fort Colunge. I am feeling great. Doris QC.
