Very good Sarah, and it is true that not getting enough calorie doesn't make us lose weight faster.

Good job Ana.. continue!!!

As for myself, the scale was stuck to the same number as last week.

Have a great week everyone.

Congrats, Sarah, you're are finally out of your stall! Must feel good to say goodbye to the 270's!!I

I'm down to 230.8 this week, so I lost 2.8 lbs. I'm happy, I think it's pretty good for a pre-surgery week.

I hope everybody has a great week!

May 14th or 21st?  Are these dates good for everyone?  Is this enough time in advance to start planning for a meet up?

:D

Can it be?!?!  I stepped on the scale and 169.2!!!  WOO HOOO!!!  Hopefully this stall is over!

As a side note, yesterday I was able, and did eat more than I have in a long while... maybe I wasn't eating enough!

They paid all for my Gastric Plication.  If you are self pay you are accepted right away. I think your condition and your health also play a big part. That should not discourage anyone.  You have to be strong willed and determined to have the surgery. State of mind and state of health and your age play a big part.   Doris QC.

I can't really comment on wait times as I had decided after my consult to go directly through the private route but my consult did go much more quickly than ADA's(which has yet to happen at the Royal Vic). I saw Dr. Christou a month after I sent my application. I did mention though on my application I was seriously considering the self pay route so needless to say I think that most definately swayed the balance in my favor.
As for the public wait times, as far as I am aware the public funding for WLS promised last fall only partially came through and most of that funding was for lapband surgery. The governement chose this type to surgery to encourage. So if you are scheduled for other types of surgery well you are out of luck. Surgery is also influenced by health risk so if you are more healthy with a smaller BMI this moves you down the hospital list but up on the day surgery list. Anyway, in Québec the surgery is gaining in popularity and the wait times are long as surgeons condend with not having enough booking time in the OR's. In the spectrum of life saving surgeries, this is still considered an elective surgery. So we are not considered a priority nor an emergency. It doesn't help the people who are on the wait times but I don't think that it is something the workers in the program have much control over. It isn't easy to keep telling people it's not your turn. I think everyone is doing their best in the system we have. When I started my journey we were dealing with five to seven years wait time. Now they are down to 18 to 36 months. I know any wait time is hard when we finally make up our minds to have this surgery but from my perspective alot has improved in the last few years.
