Hi Ada,
I can not really help you on this one. I was told by the doctor that if needed I could go see a private nut, considering that I am over 2 hours from the hospital, it is not convenient to see the one at there. However, so far, between the ready that I have done and advises from people here, I didn't felt the need to see a nut.

Topic: Easter Monday weight in
Hi my friends and happy easter to all of you,
I am proud of myself, over the past days, there was chocolat around me. I have tasted 1 piece, the size of my little finger nail. It was so sweet, I did not even like it. I was happy, the fact that I didn`t like chocolat (I would never thought I would say that one day), I was not tempted to have more during the weekend.
During the week-end, we had a supper Saturday and a brunch Sunday. However, I manage to eat properly and lost 1.8 lbs for this current week. I am very happy, I had a mini goal to be at 250 for my birthday, it is Friday and I am already at that weight.
Hope you all had a good week,
Nathalie

Topic: RE: Spreadsheet - Tracking QC wait times
I was told for me it would be a 2 year wait list (for those with a higher bmi and having a vsg at the hospital, however those with lower bmi could have surgery at rockland within 1.5 year). So it'll be 2 years in September 2011 for me. So far haven't heard anything about sleep tests, blood work, nutrition class etc.. Does anyone know if you can self refer for a sleep apnea test in Gatineau? I don't know who or where to call. It's very difficult to get information from Dr. Atlas' office about this. I want to help things move quickly - In the fall I'm going to be very anxiously waiting by the phone. So far each time I call Martine, the only thing she can tell me is yes, i'm on the list, and the wait is at least 2 years. sigh...waiting is the worst!

Topic: Post-Op Dietician Apt.
Hi everybody,
Just wondering about something that was mentioned at the Nut. meeting I attended and that was to see a dietician soon after the surgery but we were also told that the waiting time to see the dietician at Sacré Coeur is close to 6 months...so what to do?
I was told I could see a private Nut. (I have insurance) but I would have to find a bariatric dietician. So anyone been to the post-op nut or have gone the private route?
Also I have a question concerning the breakfast post op. It states we can have cereal with milk quite early on but what if I never eat cereal...and will it go down? What have you guys had for breakfast? Is having a shake only ok?
The questions are starting for me now...and it looks like I should have my surgery by mid-september at the latest. I had to postpone my bloodwork for a month because both my parents and my daughter will be away for a huge part of the summer so I don't really want to go through this alone.
Thanks to all of you for all your help and support!!
Happy Easter!
Ada

Thanks Brenda, Doris, Nathalie and everyone for the support. It really means a lot coming from people *****ally know what it's like to try to lose weight when you have so much to lose. The possibility of having the surgery in the near future is a great incentive. The waiting is not too bad when we feel like we're actually getting closer to our goal.
Tomorrow is Easter so hang in tight everyone!!

Great job everyone especially Ana as everyone remembers how hard it is to lose the weight preop.....keep it going.
As for me well I am at 152 as of today. I have been eating a bit more and exercising a bit less. I am using the stairs at work every time and that is four flights about six times a day. It is the time of year where the outside activities are limited. Not enough snow to do stuff and still too much to do spring chores and garden prep. Have a good week guys and happy easter weekend. I am going to be 46 on Easter Sunday....I asked my hubby for a carrot cake (with splenda of course!) I'll let you know how it turns out

I will be there in spirit! I love living in a small town but I do miss being a drive away from the big city. I would love to see a new group picture. Sara can I count on your photography skills? Have fun guys.
