Topic: Got a call today!!!
Well well, I was almost hopeful that the hospital would'nt call me, but it is when you least expect it that it happens! I am seing the nutritionist on June 9th and attending the session, so some positive news there, then will need to wait another couple of months before my VSG YAYYYYYYYYYYYY! Wow time has gone by so fast!
Anyhow, that is my update (which I know I havent been on as much as I wished I would have). LOL...

Hey congrats Derek, im so proud of all your accomplishments! We often hold back on things we want to do in life due to our physical hold backs... You did it dude!!!!! :) Im so happy for ya! Congrats to your lovely women too she must be soooooooooo excited!!! I know im not on here often, time is short for me sometimes but I always check in from time to time! I also got the call today to attend the nutritionist session in Mtrl on June 9th yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!

Hey Ada,
The blood work was super fast, no more than 15 minutes. You get there, they fill a bunch of those little tubes and then Martine talks to you about the surgery and how to prepare, etc. I didn't need an EKG (I'm 33), so I can't help you with that. They might ask you to do some tests for respiratory function, but it's not certain because the tech at pneumologie told me they are changing the requirements for the surgery.
Guess what?! I just got my date: June 30!! I'm super excited!

Hi Brenda,
Thanks for the words of wisdom. I knew this was all good news from my OH family and I'm glad you guys are all supportive. I know that the exercise routine is a hard one to kick start. For me, I play hockey two times a week now, try to play golf twice a week and go to the gym 4 times a week. That's my plan. The hockey will be a go, the golf might be less depending on the weather but the gym I definitely want to do. I need to stay firm and I know what I have to do. You are always considered strong as a morbidly obese person because you are big but it's not always the case. For me, my legs are really strong because of hockey, but I find my upper body to be somewhat weaker and I want to even things out a little. I also want to work on my mid-section, even though I hate ab workouts, because that's where I need most of my work and because it'll help me both in hockey and in golf so it's a WIN-WIN-WIN situation. We'll see how the first three weeks go. My legs are just killing me and I will need to push myself past the pain.

Thanks for the kind words.
That's just crazy that you fit in his size 32 belt. Nutssssss I say! I always believed in you but the little NSV are just so much better than any number that scale can show us. I'm glad you were able to figure out what your next surgery was going to be but it sucks that you'll have to go for a revision on your tummy. Ahhhh the joys of losing weight... I'm not looking forward to it either. That goeal does sound realistic. 16 pounds by the end of July is not a long stretch and I know you can do it! Keep up the great work.

Thanks for the tips for us post-opers. I haven't experienced with sushi in the last month or so but I know that last time I had some it didn't go down as easily as I had hoped for. I will be taking pictures for sure... too bad you won't be in them but it doesn't mean we won't be thinking of you. That's too bad for Diane. I really hope she is doing OK and that her husband is also doing OK.
I'll post a post-meeting summary sometime on Sunday or Monday.

Like Ada/Diana said, this restaurant is a fused Japanese/Chinese restaurant so they do have (I would assume) won-ton soups and miso soups which are both fishless. I'm sure they will have some different kinds on the menu as well. There is always something on the menu that is right for you; you just have to choose what that thing is. My sister-in-law is from St-Laz so you can make it no problem. I will post the details of the restaurant at the beginning of the thread. I'm looking forward to meeting you.
