I met Dr. Court last year when he came to the English support group to discuss WLS.  He was very pleasant and answered all questions.

Ah.... the 4 week OptiFast festival. I know you can do it as I did but I have to say that it is hard from day 2 to about day 6. After that, as long as you keep at it, it will get easier and the weight will just continue to melt off. I'm so excited for you Ada. Your time is coming! I will most definitely call Martine when I hit 100 pounds lost. Only 16 more pounds to go.

Hi Lisa,

I did the same thing as you. I had the band few years ago and it just didn`t work for me. I was worry going through the sleeve as I was wondering if it would be the same ... BUT NO. The sleeve really work and I am so happy. My life has change for the best.

Good luck, you will see, it will come fast.

Topic: A Message from "Martine"

Hi everybody,

Well I finally got to meet "Martine" on wednesday for my pre-op appointment and what a great person. She really seems to care and is extremely knowledgeable. So all went well for me and she told me I'd have a 4 week OptiFast Festival...lol But I will get through it as you all did.

So..we got to talking about people that have gone through the "process" and she asked me to let you know (the people that know her) that she'd love to hear about what's goung on. She said that once the surgery is over you guys can still call and she would love to hear how you are all doing and not to forget about her.

I mentioned the get together and I mentioned your name Derek and I told her you're doing really well and that you are now engaged and she said..."that's what I mean, I never get all the good news" in french of course. So guys...give her a call and let her know how great you are all doing...she'll appreciate it!

That's it for now...have a great evening and as soon as I can pin down Diana (before she leaves on her trip) and have her post the photos of our wonderful get together!

Hugs,
Ada

Hi Lisa,
Long time no see. I remember you from a couple of years ago. I am just recently sleeved and I am doing great. Dr. Garneau was my surgeon and he did a really good job. I didn't really like the fact that he wasn't really hands-on with his patients pre and post-op since I only saw him at my first consult and once more 1 month post-op. That's it. I'm sorry to hear that the lap-band didn't fully work out for you but I know with the VSG you will be able to make it work!

Welcome back to the board and I hope to see you around more often.

Derek

Topic: RE: Looking for WLSers in the Montreal-Vaudreuil Area...
 Hi There!

There is an English support group for WLSers every 2nd Wednesdy of the month in Ville St Laurent. It was originally created by patients of Dr. Christou, however ALL are welcome, regardless of which surgeon you are with, what surgery you had, are having, or are thinking of having,

It takes place at 1375 Rue Grenet.  If interested I can let you know the next time they will hold it (don't have my agenda in front of me now).  Jennifer & Bill (the ones who run it) are amazing people.

Topic: Hi!
 Hi Everyone....

My name is Lisa.  I haven't been around here in a long while.
I had the lap band procedure 2 years ago with little success.
I recently went to see Dr. Garneau and I put my name on the list for the Verticle Sleeve (was told 18 months).  I'm very excited about this.

I was glad to see this part of the forum now has some action as it had very little back in 2009.  I'm also glad to see that there are some get togethers now & again.

Looking forward to posting!
Lisa
