Topic: RE: I Finally got my Operation date!!!

Stay Positive :) i know i even started to think they lost my file lol... i did the apnea test (the one u take home) in august, the y told me if it was severe they would call for me to see a specialist, if i did have it but wasnt severe then i would be put on a waiting list and if i didnt have anything thats where it stayed, like 3 weeks later i got a call saying i needed to see a specialist, when i went he said i prob had apnea but i needed to do a sleep study (one night at hosp).. i went then the next day i got my results which indicated that I didnt really need the CPAP machine :D and on then about 4 weeks later i got my date... hope this helps :)

Woot wooot.  Congrats.   :-).  Am very happy for you.

Reading your post really made me feel better.   I have also been waiting for a little over three years.   I was called in September for the dietician course and am now waiting again for a sleep apnea test.  Apparently the lung dept is very busy and i have to wait for an available machine.    Just the fact that my file was being worked on brought my hopes up.  They were a little down but reading your post gave me a boost.              I am hoping that once i have the sleep apnea test. It will go quickly.     Will stay positive.

Will be thinking of you on the 9th.   Keep us posted on how the liquid diet goes.   I am probably in for four weeks too.     But hey am reaaaddyyyy.   :-)

grats!  I think the pre-op testing is only good for a month ... so you'll likely be getting booked for those soon.

Thanks for the info, starlightlu and justpete.
I glad you mentioned portions you eat, justpete. I was curious about that, as well.

Topic: RE: Newbie question - how long is the wait after first applying?

Thanks for the info. Given what you've told me I think I'm going to give them a few more weeks before I call them. I don't want to come off as a pest to them. My secret hope is that I get to go to the Lachine hospital. For one, i grew up there and for another, I honestly think I fear the idea of having to drive downtown to the Vic as being more frightening than the idea of an operation. I HATE driving downtown.
