Thanks for all the tips.
Brenda that book sounds great I'm going to look it up.
Yeah Derek 15-30 minutes to start to get into a routine sounds good to me. Need to stop saying and just do it. (that's my problem now)
Nathalie, every time it's not raining I try to get the kids to go for a bike ride or a walk or something to get out. And they just want to play outside all the time... They did want to do one activity by I was not joining them for that. They were in the pool last weekend. brrrrrr it's ccccold. Not heated above ground pool.
Ooh I need to get a a jump rope and have competitions with them. That could work.

Hey Cindy,
It's something that's bugging me too. How does one get motivated to go out and workout? I don't have any trouble going out and playing sports; hockey, fishing, golf. But you'd have to drag my body to the gym. I enrolled in a membership but have trouble getting motivated. One thing my dad told me was that I should plan on only doing 15-30 minutes every time I go for about a month. That way I get in a routine even though I'm not going for a full-on workout. We are so used to the old lifestyle that we need to break the bad habit and introduce some new ones. Starting this week, I'm going to try this new idea my dad swung my way. A bit of exercise, 3 days a week, for 1 month. Let's see how it goes. You may want to give it a try.

Hi and Welcome!
The VSG is covered by RAMQ but the wait time is about 18-24 months long depending on a couple of factors that are unknown to us. Some people have waited less time and some more. It depends. For me, as was young enough and could wait so I didn't self pay but you can self pay wherever you want. Mahmahgoose self paid and went to Mexico and she had it done under 10k I believe. You can ask her a bunch of questions and I'm sure she'll be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

Topic: RE: OH Conference in New Orleans!!
Interesting price... too bad I'm already doing a trip down for a wedding in Moncton for the first week of August. The cash might not be available but I'll keep it in mind. I'd love to hit up New Orleans.

Amazing news Anne!!! That means you'll have surgery within the next 3 months... I think the tests are only good for 3 months so that means a max of 3 months for surgery; September 7th MAX! :)
As for parking, you can always park on the streets around. It's free between certain hours so you don't have to pay the big $$. Let us know how it goes! Get ready for liquids and for the weight to start melting off!

Topic: MORE good news.....
Guess what? Today, after coming back from my group meeting with the nut, I got a call from Danielle and she said that she wanted to give me some dates for my pre-op testing!!! Finally!!! I have to be at the hospital on the 7th of June to have my hospital card made then go meet the pneumologist and then I go home with a machine to wear overnite for sleep apnea. The next morning on the 8th, I've got to bring back the machine and do my blood tests with Martine and then, meet the pneumologist again. It's gonna be a busy 2 days for me and the parking at the hospital is sooo expensive (13$ for 2 hours!!!!) but at least my time is coming finally.... And I have to drive in traffic 2 days in a row, I live 1h away from Montreal.... but who's complaining!!!! IT'S MY TURN NOW!!!!!
BTW, does anybody know how long after the blood tests you have to wait for the surgery? I've heard it's maximum 4 months..... Does that mean that I should have my vsg by the end of September?
Thanks again everyone for your support....
