Sounds like you'll get some answers soon with the tests etc. That probably a relief. Dr. Atlas is also going to be my surgeon, and my BMI is over 50, so I often wondered what the criteria was for possibly moving on to a bypass if the sleeve didn't provide adequate results. So are you just supposed to email his office with updates on your weight loss now? When is your next follow up appointment with Dr. Atlas?
Thanks for sharing this information, its so helpful having this kind of info on the follow up!
Elena
Your doc is happy with your progress, so you're doing good!
Did Dr Atlas what would be a nore realistic goal weight?
More frequent follow-ups could be beneficial to maintain motivation, keep up the good work Cindy!

I just got back from meeting Dr. Atlas for my one year check up.
He said he was happy with my progress and based on the numbers he has I have lost 54% of my excess weight. But that does not include the liquid diet and that is based on a goal weight of 145 lbs. Which he said is not realistic.
He also mentioned that most people witha VSG loose about 65% of the excess weight in 12 to 18 months.
And that because I had a high BMI of over 50 there's a 30% chance I might need a bypass or something else. But so far so good.
I have to go for an x-ray "repas baryte" which I think is the barium x-ray. I mentioned to him I was eating more than before and that I feel hungry so he wants to make sure it didn't stretch and that the size was good to begin with. Also since I started having some heart burn again they will check if I have an ulcer.
And I got in trouble for not having more follow ups... didn't know I should. He wants more data. So he wants to have my weight sent to him every 4-6 weeks on their internet site. Any one else do that?
That was pretty much it.
Cindy
You're burning energy like a big block engine, Congrats!
Keep up the good work!

For me it was another good week weight wise. I lost another 3.8 pounds and I now have less than 100 pounds to lose before I hit my goal weight. I have now lost 89 pounds in just under 4 months and I feel great. I played 54-holes of golf in the last 48 hours and because of it, I was able to get in almost 5 litres of water so I was happy about that. The swing is out of whack now because of the weight loss but I can't complain about that too much right now. It's what I needed and wanted. I'm ~18 pounds away from being under 300 pounds for the first time in 5 years. That's my new July goal. Here's to another awesome week gang!
Nathalie! Félicitation à toi et Pierre. 10 years is amazing but now with your health back in check, you will have a ton more to celebrate. Have fun at the Delta "Nathalie" Winnipeg. Good job on the weight loss too with all the celebrating you were able to do.

Joel I don't see your ticker. Keep up the good work of maintaining.
I'm not 100% sure what my weight was last week. But in the past 2 weeks or so I lost about 2 pounds so I'm happy with that.
I have my one year checkup on Wednesday, let's see what Dr. Atlas has to say.
I hope to get some time to enjoy the nicer weather.
Have a great sun filled week.
Cindy
Taking focus away from weight loss and redirecting it on a happy wedding is a very healthy thing to do...Congrats to you and Pierre! Weight can surely wait a bit before it comes back in the spotlight again...
I've updated my ticker at 176.5 this morning, but weight is under control...Time to get out and enjoy nicer (and dryer) weather!
Have a nice week everyboby!
Edit: Where the heck is my ticker???
