Hi,
Welcome...I am 2 years post op and it is very normal to be feeling all the anxieties and questions. Just to give you a bit of info...at the march support group meeting we will have a plastic surgeon and in April a psych...so 2 months not to miss at the support meetings.
If you have any questions for either please feel free to pass them on to me and i will be happy to forward so they can answer your questions accurately.
Take care,
Ada
Hello Curvygirl,
The english support meetings are every 3rd wednesday of the month, so the next meeting (since i have just seen your post, is on February 19th. )If you had your surgery in february you would probably be ok to come to the March meeting. (March 19th) and at that meeting we will have a very special guest...a plastic surgeon.
Actually he is my plastic surgeon...have just undergone a panniculectomy (tummy tuck) with him.
Hope to see you there,
Ada
The amount of time on the shakes is based on ur bmi.
:-). Tnks. :-). N
Congrats & good luck.....just wondering why 5 weeks of shakes, my understanding was 2wks, just curious.
After over three years, my time is approaching. Blood work all done, apnea test done, Results all good, :-). Admissions called me on Wednesday and my surgery date is March 18th, 2014. I was over the moon when they called. I went to get my idealfast shakes today to start pre-op diet on Monday. Really made it real for me, am so nervous and I hope to fly through the five weeks of shakes and vegies. :-).
Wish me luck guys. Am sooo happy and cannot wait to take my seat on the loser's bench.
Xoxo xoxo
Thanks so much for the info! How much have you lost so far?
after surgery do they give you a number to call if you have an emergency/complications?

pretty sure the psych thing is optional, but take full advantage of it or even ask for it if have depression or anxiety issues. I dont think they would hold that against you, but the benefits from it could help you succeed long term!
I meet with the nurse and nutritionist about every 3 months, more frequently the first 2 months. I'm going to my 10+ month post op on tues feb 11. They are pretty helpful with coming up with food ideas and making sure you are on track with food etc. The surgeon you see before, surgery day, and once or twice after - provided there are no issues at least. Dr Court is pretty experienced in the surgery room ... I feel a lot more comfortable with him in scrubs than a suit. heh.
