Hey Everyone:

T'is Moi - still waiting by the phone BUT continuously researching stuff.  :-)         enlightened

A girl at my work came in the other day with this ready to go chocolate shake from Costco - 30 grams of protein 160 calories (premier protein) .   She let me try a bit and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it tasted.     I thought these would be great for after surgery because they are quick and easy - especially when getting back to work.

Has anybody used them or are they not recommended due to the amount of calories in them?    I thought 160 was realistic since it could also be occasionally consumed as a meal (breakfast or lunch) replacement .           Can these be taken early on in the post op diet stages?

Let me know your thoughts.     Everyone's diet progression is different and I am always eager to read about what people ate at different stages after surgery.

Thanks so much everybody.      Love hearing your suggestions.

Kellie            soon I hope!!!

160 cals for 30g protein is very good.    you will find most powders are 125 cals for 30g protein, but they would not taste proper or blend well into a volume the size of a premiere protein.  Plus consider that most people mix their protein powders into milk for 80 cals more or almond milk for 30g more ... premiere protein RTD is jsut about as good as you are going to get.

general rule of thumb for anything you get is 100 calories for 10g of protein.  these are way above that.  I just got my first case today!  hoping to give them a try tomorrow.  so many people recommend them, must be ok!

Thanks Guys. I have tried a few since buying them and I really like the taste. No, mixing, no measuring, much more convenient I think.

I will certainly use em once the time comes, amd even now.

160 calories, 30 grams of protein, I thinks that's great too. For me, they taste like chocolate milk.

Take care.

Thanks again

Kellie
