Hi everyone~

I have my surgery coming up in under 2 weeks and my preop tomorrow.

I just wanted to join and hopefully have some support since I only have my daughter who's 18 and a little self-absorbed to supposedly be my back up on this but not really anyone else close to me what actually know what I'm going through.

It would be great to hear from some you.

I was wondering about the Beneprotein as I was unable to find it her in Montreal....Anyone have any ideas.  I'm a research hog so I've been researching surgeries, results and post op results for almost 2 years now.

Hi and welcome...

Congrats and good luck on your upcoming surgery.

I found the Beneprotein at Jean Coutu but I had to ask the pharmacist to order it...doesn't take long at all.

Keep us posted and if you need anything...just ask.

Welcome! I had my pre-op test today as well at the RVH, was there for HOURS(2 1/2) waiting. Well I guess someone had to be last,,lol my luck.

I was told by the dietitian that Beneprotein is available by prescription. I am not sure if you NEED a prescription.

I was at the RVH today and totally forgot to ask about BeneProtein.

Also, there are other options, not just BP - I will have to do more research.

I was their for 3 hours today myself

Good Luck to you

There was such a wait that the dietitian took me and 2 other ladies to do the info, We also didn't get any BP. We did get the Optifast. Maybe we get the precription for it when we leave the hospital, with the other prescriptions we will be getting (lovenox, vitamins ect)

Good luck to you as well!!

Hi, rooting for you with your upcoming surgery. Did you try the optifast? Is it tolerable? How long do you have to take for?

Thx,

Hi Tiundra, rooting for you as well and wish you all the best. What surgery are you having and who is your doctor at the Vic?

Hi~

I'm having the Roux-en-Y surgery with Dr. Demettynaere (I think that's how it's spelt).

LOL
