I'm at the hotel in burlington (vermont). Flight is At 5am into newark, and from there San Diego...having surgery that same day. I chose to go the self pay route (because the 3 year waiting list is ridiculous )and i'm getting my sleeve in Tijuana. Flight home is 31 st though, My layover is in chicago and that might be ok, but it's seeming likely that we may get the return flight to Burlingon cancelled, may have to break down and drive chicago to burlington, so wish me luck!

Well the flight was cancelled,  so I'm trying again on November 8th :)

By now you are hopefully banded and back home. I hope you love your band as much as I love mine. I lost 100# the first ten months after I was banded. Would love to talk to you about your experience in Tijuana. My toll free number from Canada is 1-888-398-5186. Where are you planning on having your fills done?

Hi JoAnn,   I didn't get the lapband,  I got the vertical sleeve surgery :)   I did get it done on November 8th  and the recovery has been great!   I had to pay out of pocket but you could pretty much schedule your surgery immediately instead of the 3+ year wait here in Quebec,  I figured the money I spent right now on the surgery would be repaid in 3 years just by the lack of junk food etc,  and I'd get to get the health benefits right now instead of having to wait!    I haven't regretted my decision,  the level of care that I got in Tijuana was as good or better than some of my experiences in Montreal area hospitals :)
