complication......

Hi everyone,
This morning I went in for surgery, was on operating table by 8:15 am. I remember counting down from 10......and then waking up in the rocovery room...

Unfortunately my surgery did not happen, when they went in with the camera, my doctor noticed that my spleen was enlarged.  Toooo risky for them to do the surgery.  Long story short, I have to pass a test on my spleen to make sure all is ok. I can redo my surgery as early as early as 2 weeks but it has to be done at the hospital.  An enlarged spleen can cause hemmerage and the hospital is better equipped for complications.....
so long story short, i am home, i have to cuts...
I'm o.k, somewhat dissapointed....but so proud that Dr. Denis is my doctor.  He is amazing, so kind and reassuring.

Hi L!
I'm so sorry to hear this. I can just imagine your disappointment. But everything happens for a reason right? Dr. Denis is my surgeon as well and he really is one of the top in the Quebec. He knows his stuff. Don't be discouraged... What's 2 weeks in a lifetime. It's better to be safe than sorry with all sorts of complications later on right? hang in there. You know what? look at this like a practice shot you r always welcomed to message me if you need to ... Keep in touch, rest well, and wishing you a quick recovery. Xx

Hi Barbra,  I am doing fine.  I'm just trying to come to terms with the fact that during surgery my spleen is gonna go.  It is way to large and can cause hemmoraging.  I had tests done and there is no explanation as to why it is so large. My blood tests reveal my blood count and everything is normal.  But that explains the discomfort I feel on my lower back, so much though it wakes me up at night.  He said it is so large its on my stomach.  Soooooo looks like its coming out.....I'm a little scared!

Martine should call me today with my date, I'll let you know when it is.

How are you doing?

Hi Lily,

I also have an enlarged spleen that caused me much discomfort after my first child was born, would also wake me up ect,,my MD referred me to an oncologist, but it turned out to be fine.. I haven't had any issues since..

I'm sorry to hear about yours! Thank god you choose this surgery, and that Dr Denis found it! :)

I'm great!!! Down 82 lbs! I feel fantastic, and can't wait for you to join us on the loosers bench!! :)
