It's been a week....

Hello Everyone!

Well it's been a week today that I was operated on (sleeve). I think everything is going smoothly really. I am just a little concerned about my liquid intake-today i was able to drink 2 bottle s of high protein Ensure and 500 ml of water. Is that adequate? I don't feel an real hunger except for the mental hunger- and even that is not really so bad. I feel a little emotional because psychologically, I am realizing that food is no longer my pole, my friend, the one I turn to when I am happy, sad, bored, stressed etc etc.... Am I the only one that feels like this? Does it go away? I almost feel like i am mourning the loss of a friend.....

   Let the journey begin...

OMG, it's totally normal!! 100%!!!
I feel the same way, but the results out weigh the mouring.. so it's all worth it in the end! :) :)
I would try to get more water in... sip sip sip... I know a lot of people say warm water goes down easier, my sleeve (much like me) loves cold! With ice cubes and all!
I would try a whey protein over ensure.. more protein and less calories... just my suggestion. Lean Fit from Costco fits the bill! They have chocolate and vanilla...
Keep rockin' it!

hiya,

I just had mine on the 20th..... i am on my last day of liquids.... apple juice diluted and water jello with that terrible protein lol.....
I havent felt the mourning.............. i am not attached to food I guess.........I do have alot of growling in my stomach? like I am hungry but really no real craving when I take a spoonful of jello etc....

I guess I will know soon if I feel the depression.......or down feeling, but with any surgery comes that feeling....

did anyone feel the pain in the shoulder after surgery?
