I am 50 years old...or young...depending on the day.  From reading this forum and seeing the pictures....50 seems to be a tad older than the average here.  How many of you had this surgery at my age? Is it harder on older people...not that I feel 50 is old age but you know what I mean...What's the concensus on this one?

Personally, to me age is just a number. Weight loss and surgery are tough no matter what age. I had the surgery at 37. I couldn't imagine having it in my 20s. I would have never been this disciplined. An advantage you have, is your wisdom and experience. You know who you are and what you want.

I was 43 when I has my DS done and I know many people who had WLS in their 40's and 50's...Being 50 shouldn't stop you from getting a 2nd chance at life!
