Hi there!

My name is Stephanie and I have had the Vertical Sleeve 3 months ago. My weight was at my highest 407lbs. I have lost 77lbs and and taking it a day at a time. It hasn't been easy, but I know that I am off to a good start.

Went to the Mtl Support Group meeting last night and it was motivating. People have lost so much. A woman whom i instantly became friends with lost  over 200lbs.

My dream is to have amazing legs so that I can wear sexy heels!

Our thoughts are very powerful.

Hi Stephanie,

It was nice meeting you last night and welcome to OH! You are well on your way towards those sexy heels ;-) One word of advice though: don't buy them just yet as your feet are likely to shrink at the same time as the rest of your body (I've gone from a 9-9.5 Wide to a 8.5-9 Regular already and I'm still losing).

Cheers,

Monica

Hi Stephanie,

One day at a time...that's the way I look at it and make short term goals.
I keep peaking into my daughter's shoe closets (yup she has 2) for shoes I'll hopefully be wearing soon!
Welcome to OH and have fun!

It was great last night at the meeting...very inspirational!

Hi Ada,

Yes you are right ... short term goals for sure. I am focusing on 100 lbs .... 77 down ....23 to go... I will treat myself to a spa day at the 100lbs .... i feel it's really good to have rewards for each triumph.

See you at the next meeting. Keep smiling, you are gorgeous!

Hi Stephanie,

It was nice meeting you on Wednesday and I have to say, I left the meeting feeling very inspired and excited for my surgery, which is scheduled for June 1st.

Can you give me an idea of your menu for the first few days?

Thanks! ;)

Hi,

Sure you mean after the surgery?

The day of surgery you won't eat and trust me you won't feel like eating. When you leave the hospital, the Bariatric nurse will give you a detailed diet plan. I followed it 100% and was never sick. The first 2 weeks you will be on liquids, then you progress to purees. It's important to follow exactly what they say, because you need to heal inside. After the 5 weeks, you start eating "normal" food ... no more purees ... this is really good. PLease feel free to ask me anything. I am really open and would love to help anyone through this journey.

Thank you Stephanie!
I am having mine done at Rockland, would you mind maybe emailing me the detailed diet plan? I'd really appreciate it.. I have a little book from Rockland it says "FOOD GUIDE, BARIATRIC SURGERY" with a green apple on the cover.. is it the same?
I really appreciate the support!

Hi,

I went to the Royal Vic, I guess you are going private? I don't have a book like you do. I was given the food plan at the hosiptal when I was ready to go home. I am sure they are the same. Really you should follow what they gave you .... depending on what surgery you are getting. THere is a web site for Dr. Christou's practice http://www.weightlosssurgery.ca/downloads/ and you can find the diet there .... it is very similar to what I followed.

Best of luck!

Stephanie

ps. sorry i didn't answer you sooner..... here is my email [email protected] ... i check it often
