Hi everybody,

For those of you who have had surgery at Sacré Coeur or have had the pre-op testing done(including the sleep apnea) Did you have a 3rd apt to go see a pnumologist (sp) after your tests were done?I was not told that when I had the tests and have been waiting (or so I thought) for my surgery date but this morning I was called for an apt. on Sept 6th to see the pnumologist.

I also called Martine's office and Danielle told me that this apt. was part of the "tests". I reminded her that on Sept.18 it will be 4 months I had my blood work/ECG done but she said it would be ok. That for sure September was already all "booked" and Martine hasn't gotten Dr.Garneau's October schedule...I'm so fed up of waiting...and being at this point when all the pre-op testing has "supposedly" been done...even more frustrating!

Sorry for venting on you guys, but who better would understand.
Thanks for being there!

Hugs,
Ada

Hi Ada,  I had all my pre-op testings done in the same day on June 8th.  I had my bloodwork done, sleep apnea test the night before, went to pneumologie to test my lungs and met with the pneumologist all in the same day.....   They should have given you all your tests on the same day too.  I only had one more appointment on July 27th to meet the internist and I now have my surgery date.... it's September 27th.  I hope you get your date soon too.  Good luck....

Hi Anne,

It would have been nice to have it all on the same day...not too good missing work...$$

I was told that this follow up appointment is done one month after the sleep apnea test...I don't know...maybe they found something not good so now I'm worrying about that too.

Anyway thanks for the info and good luck to you!!

Hi Ada,

Venting is always good, you need to get that frustration out! I would be quite upset too if they did that to me... I find it strange that they didnt get you to do all your tests the same day, as for the pneumologist I wasnt requested to do that... I find that depending on patients they add or lessen some tests!?! Should'nt it be standard? Anyhow, hang in there and I keep my fingers crossed for you to get your date soon!!!

Hi Kessey,

Thanks for your good wishes. Actually when I went to see Martine for my bloodwork, Dr. Garneau had NOT requested the pneumology tests. She made that decision on her own. I guess she decided that it would be best for the test.

But what I am feeling is that they are just trying to "fill up" the time until I go for my surgery. My blood work was on May 18th, September 18th will be 4 months since my pre-op blood tests.

Anyway...keeping my fingers crossed!
