Monday Weigh-In and some EXCITING news!!! :)
Hey Guys,
I hope you all had a nice weekend and I hope all the Moms out there had a great Mother's Day. First and formost I wanted to break the news to you guys that yesterday I popped the question and she said YES!!! After several years together, everything in my life is finally getting back on the right track and felt that it couldn't be any better than to commit to a long and healthy life with my lover.
On top of the news, yesterday was my first day at the gym. My trainer made me a plan to follow to excel in hockey. Let me just tell you that I have trouble lifting my legs today. It'll be a tough first couple of weeks but I will get into the roll of things.
As for the numbers, to make a long story short, I gave my scale to my heavier cousin because her scale did not work anymore and took my old one out as I was approaching it's maximum of 330 pounds. Well Thursday of last week it finally showed me a number of 332.4 and this morning I was 327.8 so it looks like all this cardio, working out, golf and hockey are paying off. Two Mondays ago I was 334 on the other scale but I really think it was about 3 pounds off so I was more like 337. So all in all, I'll take a loss of 4.6 pounds since Thursday.
Now, let's see your numbers!!!

OMG...DEREK.....I AM SO HAPPY...It is about damn time man. I knew she would say yes though!!!!
You better keep us up to date on your plans. I know that you are going on a honeymoon...Go check with a local travel agency and see if they offer a registration like that if you would register at dept stores. That way people can help put money towards your honeymoon. The travel agency that I work for has something like this and I have seen some newlyweds that have had to pay half or nothing towards thier honeymoon. Just a thought!
I am so happy for your WL too. Keep it up....Your soon to be wife and future kids want you around for a long time!!!
Again congratulations!!!

Howdy all!
Yey Derek! So happy for you both!
My numbers have gone up this week, however... my inches are going way down. I added several things to my exercise regime. So all in all I am not unhappy!
One fun thing that happened... we are packing, and as such I am insisting on a lot of things be thrown out... Simon was going to throw some old belts of his away, seeing as how they do not fit him at this time. Just for fun I tried one on... 32''! It fit!!! It was tighter that I am comfortable with around my new scar area, however hot damn! The thing fit!!! he just stared with his mouth open! Giggle!
As I lose more and more weight my legs are getting more and more uncomfortable, skin wise. I have decided that this will be my next surgery. I am tentatively planning for it by next Feb. I know there will be about at least 10 pounds of skin removed from this surgery as well.
Then, depending on my recovery from this one I can plan out the next surgeries to have. In regards to my panni surgery. I am happy still with the result, however the skin is getting looser with the more weight I am losing. A revising will have to be done in the future... this realization is kind of sickening, however I was warned. The panni was not a tummy-tuck, it was just to remove all that dead weight and skin so mobility and comfort was increased- that is what it has done 10 fold so far.
So I started a months worth of exercise goals and a plan to follow. I weigh in today at 266. Goal for the end of July is 250... if I get there sooner, yey! My goal is to be at 200 by dec... which is 10 pounds a month. Hopefully I can do it!
Happy losing!

Hi Sarah,
Thanks for the kind words.
That's just crazy that you fit in his size 32 belt. Nutssssss I say! I always believed in you but the little NSV are just so much better than any number that scale can show us. I'm glad you were able to figure out what your next surgery was going to be but it sucks that you'll have to go for a revision on your tummy. Ahhhh the joys of losing weight... I'm not looking forward to it either. That goeal does sound realistic. 16 pounds by the end of July is not a long stretch and I know you can do it! Keep up the great work.
Derek

Congratulations to both of you!It is wonderful news. Especially since the OH family has been waiting quite a while on the big news. Just remember to take a few moments to take it all in. The day goes by really quickly and it can get a tad overwhelming with all the attention put on you. It is a memorable event. Have fun planning!
As for the WLS. I am still on the maintenance. 150lbs. I've started my new job but still finishing up loose ends on my old job so I am very by the time I get home. My exercise regiment is non existent at this point. We've started spring chores and I of course have been doing spring cleaning and well that is taking all of my time. I know it is temporary but it is playing with my mind. The brutal honesty is that I am no way near doing enough exercise. I am not on the couch doing nothing but not working out. I need to figure something out. I have been trying to walk on my lunch hours when I remember to bring my sneakers. I will have to figure this out. Time management for my personal stuff has always been a challenge for me....This is an ongoing goal for me.
Congrats on everyone losses. Have fun on the get together and see you all next week.

Hi Brenda,
Thanks for the words of wisdom. I knew this was all good news from my OH family and I'm glad you guys are all supportive. I know that the exercise routine is a hard one to kick start. For me, I play hockey two times a week now, try to play golf twice a week and go to the gym 4 times a week. That's my plan. The hockey will be a go, the golf might be less depending on the weather but the gym I definitely want to do. I need to stay firm and I know what I have to do. You are always considered strong as a morbidly obese person because you are big but it's not always the case. For me, my legs are really strong because of hockey, but I find my upper body to be somewhat weaker and I want to even things out a little. I also want to work on my mid-section, even though I hate ab workouts, because that's where I need most of my work and because it'll help me both in hockey and in golf so it's a WIN-WIN-WIN situation. We'll see how the first three weeks go. My legs are just killing me and I will need to push myself past the pain.
Have a great week Brenda. We'll be chatting soon!
