Hey Guys,
I thought I would start a new thread for our May 14th Get Together. Sarah started the post and lots of people showed interest but since we are only a week and a half away, I thought I would clean up our guest list and see what SUSHI places people felt like going to that could accomodate people from the west and east of Montreal. Let me know if you are taking your loved ones with you or not. Unfortunately mine is working a double shift that day so I will be riding solo.

Where: Asean Garden (link)
When: Saturday, May 14th @ 6pm
Why: Why not? It's going to be nice to see some new and familiar faces.

Any others out there? We haven't seen Diane on here for a while... there is always a first time for everyone. This is really just an informative supper for people to ask questions and see where everyone is at. It would be nice to get some more people to show up! Don't be shy.

You know it Ada! I'll probably order like 10 orders too much cuz I'm still not used to this stomach of mine so she'll have lots of leftovers. LOL

So Diana walked in as I was reading your reply Derek and she asked if we knew where we were going.

Sushi lover that she is...she suggested The Asian Garden (I think it's spelled "asean" garden) on Sherbrooke in N.D.G. This IS an all you can eat sushi restaurant, but the good thing about it is that it is also all you can eat chinese food! It's not a traditional "buffet" style, but rather you get an actual menu and right down the number corresponding to your dish, and you write how many servings you want of this dish. That way, it can accomodate everybody, not just the sushi fanatics!!!

The website doesn't say that it is "all you can eat", but trust me, it is!! (as per Diana...she's been there many times!)

Hi Ada,
I'm not sure if the all you can eat idea is the best for all us post-ops... it's a little on the expensive side for someone who will only be having about 2 or 3 sushis or have a plate of chinese food but I do like the Japanese/Chines fusion. How far is it from the junction of the 40 and Decarie? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to still be able to do the all you can eat thing, but there is a reason I needed surgery and the all you can eat places and my lack of resistance is one of the reasons.

Wish we could alle at off one plate!  LOL.  I know Simon would enjoy it-  and I could just have my couple of bites off of his plate!

Since I don't knwo of any other chocies... I am game for anything.  I am used to over-paying for food now-adays lol

Hey guys,

It's Diana replying for my mom (since I've been to this restaurant many many times)
One thing I forgot to mention is that you can also buy "a la carte", so you don't necessarily need to choose the all you can eat!

My mom felt so bad after reading the first sentence of your reply Derek, and it really hit home about just how much will change after the surgery...

As for how close it is  to the highway, it's about 8-9 blocks from the decarie, so really not far at all! Just get off at the Sherbrooke exit and go west. Hope this helps, can't wait to see everybody and catch up. My mom says hi!

Hi Ada/Diana,
It's not her fault. She doesn't know and I didn't know a couple of months ago either. Things do change and you cannot imagine how much but I have to say that it is 110% for the better. Now that I know there is an "a la carte" option, it seems like a perfect solution for everyone.

Sarah, do you mind doing the reservations or do you want me to make them? Have any of you heard from Diane? It's been a while and was wondering if her and her husband would be joining us.

I'm getting excited!!! Only 8 days away.
