Monday weigh in!!
Howdy ya'll!! SO this week has been amazing! I have been up and moving with little to no pain! I am actually not even taking pain meds anymore!! I have started to pack up my things and am once again living out of a suitcase. I come back to Montreal on the 2nd!!! I am so excited!
Oh! about the weight thing LOL- I now weigh 278!!! I'm in the 70's! woo hooo. Officially less than 100 pounds under my goal. I changed my final goal- because, well 250 seems awfully small for me (I may change it again closer to that weight, who knows). So I lost a total of 7 pounds this last week! I can now walk for a mile at a time with no pain at all!! (I had pain afterwards from my suture line, but thats different) This is very different for me, as I could barely walk a block 2 years ago without having severe knee and joint pain. I went shopping with a girlfriend, and was able to keep up, if not ahead and we were at it for about 4 hours! I am sure some of those pounds lost was due to the shopping! See guys, shopping is good for our health!!
Simon and I found a new appartment in the city that allows dogs, so in July when we move I can bring up my baby dog!!! Then I will have a reason to get moving several times a day! I am just so happy right now, I have to keep pinching myself to make sure it is all real!
Can't wait to hear how ya'll did this week!

Wow Sarah, everything seems to go in the right way for you, I am very happy for you! Oh yeah, shopping is good for the health, physically and psychologically!! & pounds in a week and 278! You must be ectatic! Post us some new pictures!! What kind of dog do you have? I really love animals, I have a chocolate lab, 2 cats and a bunny rabbit!
I still maintain at 138, even if last week was my " chocolate week"! (PMS...) Hubby is still losing, but slowier than he thought, he doesn't exercises very much, and eat too much carbs IMO...but he is now in better health, and weights the same as when I met him 20 years ago ( 226 for 6'2") exactly the same as my 17 yo son ! But both don't seem too fat, they have big muscles, especially my son!
Hope to hear from Derek soon, he should be home now and sipping and walking!!
Have a nice week everyone, the weather is no nice today, I am going for a walk!
((Hugs))

Wow you guys are all doing amazing and those of you maintaining, it's very encouraging to see that the weight "can" stay off with the right "tool".
Sarah---> Wonderful to hear that you are coming back to Montreal very soon. Simon must be super excited. And your baby doggie...I want to know his name too and what kind of dog he/she is. I'm very interested in getting a doggie too after my surgery (thankfully not allergic to dogs).
Where abouts in the city are you moving to?
Looking forward to seeing you when you get back!
Hugs to all!!

Hi Ladies!
Here's a bunch of happy people!
-> Sara: You're progressing swiftly and pounds are flying off...Interesting how walking around can become pleasurable, isn't it? And your puppy could become a great training partner...Congrats!!!
-> Elena & Ada: Keep the faith girls, WLS will come and does work!
-> Doris: You seem to recover very well! Go Doris Go!
-> Diane: You maintain like a pro! Félicitations!
IMO your DH is doing well too...I'm only 5'11" and I wouldn't want to lose more weight. I don't know what's his goal but his height should be considered...A 6'2" man with reasonable muscle mass can't be a feather-weight...
My week hasn't been bad. Still oscillating between 176 anf 178lbs even though I've had a few episodes of "not-so-rational" hunger. Even now, it sometimes is tricky to separate head hunger from real hunger...Well, as long as scale doesn't move much, I guess I just have to work on my inner demons...
Have a great week!

Ada and Diane,
He's a Chinese Crested Powderpuff dog. He is the sweetest thing ever. 7 pounds of pure fluffy joy! It should be interesting how the cats react to him, and him to them! He has never seen a cat before LOL.
Ada,
We are moving between Jean Talon and Belanger near L'assomption!! Cute little 3 1/2. Which is smaller than what we are in now, but will have a heating system that I can comtrol myself. The apartment we are in now is a water heater type of system and I can never get warm enough. I pleaded with Simon to get us somewhere where I can turn it up if I am still cold.
Everyone seems to be doing great!
I too can't wait to hear from Derek! But I understand the crappiness feelings afterwards, it took me awhile to get back to the computer after this last surgey.

Hi Everyone,
Sorry for scaring you all but since our fire at our house I haven't had a PC other then the one at work and now that I'm off recovering, I didn't have a P****il late last night. Well here I am at day 5 and I'm doing a bit better everyday. I only have slight pain in one of my 6 incisions and Dr. Garneau did a really nice job with them. I don't have any bandages or anything like that; I only have steri-strips. :) One I get my camera back and working, I will show you what I now look like. The surgery went well without any complications. They picked me up at 8:30am and by 8:40 I was under. I thought they were gonna use a gas mask on me but one of the girls in the OR was talking to me and the next minute I was opening my eyes in the recovery room at 11:30. I couldn't feel the pain or keep my eyes open but around 2pm they found me a semi-private room with only one other patient in there. They never gave me morphine and only had me going on Diludid 1.5mg. I was ok for the first few hours but I did not sleep well that night. I will cut it short here and you guys will have to check my blog out to see the rest of the story.
As for my weight, the last time I weighed myself was the day before surgery and I cam in at 370.8 pounds for a total loss of 35.8 pounds. Next, I weighed myself on Saturday when I came back and I weighed 373.8 (ughhh all those IV fluids) and this morning I weighed-in at 366 on the dot for a total loss of 40.6 pounds since February 10th. All in all I am happy with the process so far.
I will make a couple of videos this week about my surgery and everything related. The laptop I have now has a cam so I won't have to worry about tweeking my iPhone.
Keep on going guys! We are all going to get there.
Derek
