With VSG they remove 85% of your stomach and with GPS (plication) they fold it in on itself to make it smaller. I wouldn't recommend the plication as it's not helped me.
Stats are available here:
"overall weight loss was considered satisfactory in 78.6% of the patients who underwent gastricplication and in 97.5% of those who underwent sleeve." http://www.skrekas.net/surg_hemstatistics.htm

Maybe you should of had it done in Montreal. its not for everyone. Your BMI has to be around 35. It is working for me. I love it. Its a tool like everything else. You have to work with it. I am on foods now. But I can only eat 1/2 c. Then I am full. That half a cup has to be picked wisely protein first. but only half a cup. What problem are you having. Doris QC.
Wow...!!!
Those are some good statistics. I never knew that the GP was not as effective as the VSG. I would see where someone who only had 60 pounds or so to lose could benefit from it but it doesn't look like a decent option for patients who are morbidely obese. I hope everything works out for you TijuanaPlication.

I only just scraped in with a BMI of 30 and I've only lost 17lbs. Summer's here now though, so I'm seriously starting exercising (getting a new heart rate monitor and pedometer very soon). I'm gonna force this to work, although the DS seems to require less 'forcing'.
Sadly I don't feel like I have much of a tool!

You have to remember you don't have 500 lbs to lose. The less you have the harder it is. It is a tool you must work with. I can only eat 1/2 cup of food at a time. Protein first low carb. I love my plicated stomach. It keeps me in line. Are you going to a dietion you need to eat the right food. Go to sparkpeople.com it is free and the support with nutrition is great. good luck. work it girl. Doris QC.
That's the spirit girl!
