First group meeting with the nutritionist

Hi everyone!

I'm going to my first group meeting on March the 3rd, at Sacré-Cœur. Will anybody else be going? I would be nice to see friendly faces...

For the people who have been, are we allowed to bring someone? Can they watch the lecture with us? What is it like?

So many questions... I'm really excited this process seems to be moving along.

That's great news... Thanks are moving along.

I'm almost positive when I went for mine that some people brought a friend with them. It's just a big lecture room and you get some handouts to tell you what you can and can't do.

We also had to bring a food journal of what you ate for a week (I think it was only one week). They collect them for when you meet after the surgery with the nutritionis one on one to compare what you did before to what you do after surgery.

Cindy is right. There were many people in the room who were accompanied by their significant other, sibling or a friend. I had only did 4 days of what I ate because they only called me 4 days ahead of time.

Seeing as I had my Dr.  in Ottawa I didn't have to attend any of those meetings. I am such a good girl.  lol  or maybe not.  great Ana ;you are advancing.  Derek keep up the fight.  Its getting closer 6 days for me.  wow it went fast.   Doris QC.

I am really getting frustrated. tried to change my weight and it just dosn. t show.  It shows on the chart but not on the board.  What am I doing wrong????     Doris QC.

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if everyone has to attend a group meeting before surgery at Sacre Coeur?  Because, in all the years i've been waiting,  nobody ever metionned such a thing....   Wouldn't want to wait longer because I didn't get to go to one....

Hi Anne,
I got my call in September 2010 to go to the meeting. I got my call 3 months later for surgery. However, some people who were there at the meeting, already had their date and some were even on OptiFast while there so don't get discouraged. They said your time was coming. You have to be one of the next ones.

I had the large nutrition class in Sept 2010 and met with the nutristionist in dec 2010 since than I havent heard anything. The wait seems long but it always keeps getting closer!
