Day 1 - Liquids

Go go go!!! You are now on your way! You are right it is like a drug withdrawal, but in just 2-3 days it will get easier ...and time will fly without knowing it. Sylvain is sending his good wishes too ! He is now very happy he had the surgery and is so much more active and well. That' s what you have to keep in mind. We are waiting for you on the loser's bench!

I'm feeling much better today. Tell Sylvain thanks for the positive vibes for me. My eyes are definitely on the prize at the end of the road. I can't wait for the 10th of March! Only 27 more days left!

 You can do it, Derek! Take every symptom of the withdrawal (the headaches, the fatigue) as a sign of victory. You are kicking this food addiction in the butt!

Hi Ana,
That is deninitely one great way of seeing it. I kinda look at it like an exorcism. You know when you watch the shows on TV and the person looks calm and collected and then the exorcism starts and the person starts to be all weird and then it finally breaks? Sorry for the weird comparisson but right now I feel like I'm getting rid of my inner demons. LOL

Hi Derek...well it is now 11:17 pm and I'm thinking...you have survived day #1 !!! Way to go.  Were you able to finsh off 4 shakes?

So many people have said that they can't always finish off all the shakes they are required to drink.
I know that you have the power within you to lose the weight you want prior to surgery!!! You just have to believe and trust in yourself.
Can't wait to join you my friend!!!!!!!!!

Hi Ada,
I did survive day 1. At 11:17pm I was playing hockey and my mind wasn't on food so that was good. I really have to keep busy and I'll be all set. I was only able to get 3 shakes in. I will definitely try for 4 tonight. I'm only on my second one right now so I've got to ramp it up. I can't wait for you to join me too. We're are all praying for that call!

I'm so happy for you, you are finally beginning a new life...  28 days is a long time but i'm sure you can do it and soon you will be on the looser's bench...   I'm a bit jealous in a way because I want to be there too but my time will come soon, i'm sure...  Anyways, take care and keep us posted....

28 days is a long time but like my dad always tells me, "Take it one day at a time Derek"! Your time is right around the corner. Martine told you it was. I was really excited for this time and I really think it's crucial for surgery. I will be mentally prepared in a month and my body will be ready for my transformation.
