Day 1 - Liquids
Hey Guys,
So today is the day I start my liquids for the next 28 days. I was really looking forward to this day but this morning I feel nervous. I'm almost done my first shake and I'm thinking to myself "How will I last without food for the next 28 days". I know I can do it and I know my body can take it but it's like anything you cut in life. Food is like a drug or alcohol, once you cut it out you start withdrawl. I'm only a couple of hours into it and my head isn't ready. I knew the first couple of days were going to be hard but this is what I wanted.
I am ready and will be going hard for the long haul! It's going to be tough but nobody said it was going to be easy.
406.6lbs was the number on my scale this morning. My goal is to be 375lbs by the 10th of March. 32 pounds in 28 days is doable. Lets get 'er done!

Hi there Derek,
It's been awhile. I wanted to send you some encouragement for your liquid diet phase. I thought it was going to be so hard when I had to go on it for 5 weeks. I started 5 weeks in advance replacing either lunch or dinner with a diabetic boost and by the time the liquid diet started I was fine. I managed to get through the whole time without cheating. I know you can do it too!
You're doing the right thing so stay strong my friend. Just keep your eyes on the prize my friend. Remember that this is the begining of something positive. I'll be sending you positive thoughts along the way. I haven't checked in here very often because my own weight loss is moving a bit too slowly for my liking but the weight is still coming off. I'll check in on you more frequently to see how you're doing.
Bonne chance!

Hi J,
It's been a long time since you posted. It's really encouraging that you were able to pull it off for 5 weeks and that you managed not to cheat during the whole process. Obviously I don't want to cheat either and I know I will have the will power to succeed but I also know that the first couple of days are the hardest. As for your weight loss, please don't hesitate in coming to get some help here. We are all in the same boat here and trying to lose weight! Let us help you!

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Life has been so busy I rarely have time to go on line these days. It's jsut a fluke that I saw your post about starting liquids. Tell me, where are you having your surgery done? You probably told me before but that was ages ago! I have gone back for 3 adjustments on my band and have had some difficulty with food getting stuck. But it seems to be getting a bit better... I just have to remember to take smaller bites and chew really well!
The next month is going to fly by and before you know it you will have had your surgery. I'm pulling for you!
J
J,
I'm having my surgery done at the Sacré-Coeur Hospital. Thanks for the support and don't be scared to come and join our Monday weigh-ins. We're all here for the same reasons.

Hi J,
Yeah it's in Montréal! My weekend was alright! I really didn't feel as hungry as the first two days! It's slightly getting easier every day and the numbers on the scale are really helping to keep me motivated!

Hi Derek,
I know the first day is nerve wracking. But your positive attitude will take you far in this journey. You can do it and will succeed.
32 pounds in 28 days sounds like a great goal...
For me the big thing was keeping busy. No time to think that way. And I ate some vegetables most days. Just to satisfy the need to crunch something.
Keep us posted on how your doing.
Good luck and as you say get'er done !

Thanks for the support Cindy! I really appreciate it. What are we allowed to eat vegetable wise while on the liquids?
