Monday Weigh-In!!!

Hey guys,
It's Monday again and that means it's weigh-in day. So I hoped on the scale this morning and I got an error meaning I must be slightly over 406 (my scaled max). Last week I was in and around 405 so I couldn't have gone up that much. Anyways, I start my liquid diet on Thursday. That same night I have an appointment at the Nautilus gym next to my place to do a "Impedance" test that will calculate everything related to my body. Fat %, Muscle mass, Bone density, etc. I can't wait to see the results! Once I get them, I will let you guys know what it says!

Lets see those numbers guys!

Hi! I'm new here, but I was wondering if I could join in the Monday Weigh-In... I've just started in this whole bariatric surgery madness and I'm trying to lose some weight before the surgery. From what I've read, the wait can be pretty long, might as well try and make something good of it!
So I've started with 246.8 last week and today I'm down to 243.4. It's not much, but it's start, I guess!

Good luck, everyone!!

Hi Ana and welcome!
I started this journey a little more over 2 years ago now and I'm having surgery on March 10th. It was a long wait but it was totally worth it. The more time you have, the more you will learn about the surgery and about yourself. Losing 3.4 pounds in a week without surgery is something to celebrate! It is not an easy task and I know all about it.

Keep us posted on your progress and welcome again!

We are a fun bunch of people. We should be meeting again in the near future so if you could it would be nice if you could join us!

Hello,

Welcome Anna ! Nice to see a new face.

Derek it will be great for you to have a before and after measurements. I can't wait to see what they say I have never had those types of tests done.

My stall finally broke a bit. It's not great but I'll take it.

I'm down to 240.5 so I lost 2.5 lbs this week.
Took my measurements again, and from a month ago there's not much change, an inch around the waist and hips.

Have a great week everyone.

The STALL IS BROKEN!!!! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!

2.5 pounds is a really nice number Cindy. Especially at your current weight that is an awesome number! Sometimes the body goes into survival mode and reacts differently. Now that you've brokn out of the stall it's time to kick it in high gear!

Good luck for the upcoming week girl! You deserved this breakthrough!

Hi gang,

Derek ... welcome to the beginning of your new life!!!

Ana ... it is always a pleasure to have new friends here. He will be there for you anytime you need it.

Cindy... it is good that you were patient, now you are back on the right road.

As for me, I am experiencing a stall this week but I know from reading alot that we all have one at some point in our journey.

Hi guys!
Well I am off work this week til wenseday so I'll weigh in then. Have been eating more small and puree foods with the apectomie. The pain is manageable most time but I do miss being able to take antiinflammatory meds. I don't like the feeling that codeine gives me. Yuck. Tried to go for a little snowshoeing today but felt a little loopy so I stayed close to home.
Ana: welcome to the gang and feel free to ask any questions. We are small but a great bunch with a varied amount of experience.
Cindy: The stallllllllll is finally broken. Yeahhhhhhh. Losing an inch on the waist is major girl and -2.5lbs is nothing to mock at. Every pound is a success.
Derek: Your on your way buddy....remember the first few days on optifast are the worst and then your body adjust and the withdrawal symptoms lessen. Your big day is almost here!
Nathalie: There were weeks where I never lost anything but they were not really stalls. Tiny adjustments I called them. The following week I went right back to losing. I never had a stall throughout this whole journey and yet I remember alway****ting a stall when I was dieting. Go figure?.
Have a great everyone!

Thanks, guys, I feel very welcome!

Here I am, trying AGAIN to lose weight and I've been down this road quite a few times, but I have a feeling it will be a bit easier with your support and the possibility of having the surgery in the future.

If you guys need anything, I'm here for you!! Together we can make it!!

Hi everybody, it's that time again!!! I just cannot realize that last year, I was just post-op, and now it is your turn Derek !! You seem ready to do all your pre-op prep, measuring, checking body fat, etc.. You'll have a good " before" agenda! Good luck on beginning the optifast.

Ana, welcome aboard! Like the other said, we are a great gang, at different stages in our journeys. Feel free to share wih us!

Cindy, great for you, the stall has broken! Continue the good work, you have changed so much already!

Nathalie, one week wihou loss is normal at some point, continue the good work, and it will be ok!

Brenda, hope you'll feel better. It sad you cannot take anti-inflammatory pills, that was a reason why I'd prefer the vsg because I need to take them often. I am on those plus tramacet for the knee surgery I had, and it helps me a lot, without the side effects of codein. Did you tried tramacet? It is tramadol and acetaminophen.

My weight is always the same. I'll see next week, because now I am always sitting, not able to exercise or walk, and think more about eating between meals... my old habits are still not too far... Hope my knee will heal soon so I can at least walk a little.  My husband is going better, he is starting to eat a little meat, and feel better. He doesn't seem to lose since 2-3 weeks, but he doesn't exercise at all... We bought an elliptical machine and a multi gym, that we will received this week, so we won't have any reason not to exercise!

Have a nice week everyone!!
((hugs))

Hi Diane,
Congrats on another week of maintaining! When is your surgery again for your miniscus repair?
Glad to see that your husband is able to keep the food down. Maybe it's a little stall or he's just not commited yet. Maybe with the new gym equipment it'll kick him in high gear. My girlfriend has been raving about the Bowflex Treadclimber for a while now and finally broke down last week and purchased one. We should be getting it withing the next couple of days! I'm really excited!
